Today’s feast of the Most Holy Trinity speaks to the very core of who God calls us to be. Three Persons, One God. In the Holy Trinity we are reminded that we are made for communion/community. The Spirit is that bond of love between the Father and Son. Having been drawn into the very life of God by the outpouring of His Spirit in our lives, we can recognize that it is His love that binds us as well.

This past Monday, Pope Leo XIV published his first encyclical Magnifica Humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence. At the heart of this encyclical, which I highly encourage you to read, Pope Leo XIV reminds us that w emust be cautious in our use of technology like AI as it does not possess a soul and can never replace the dignity of the human person. Removal of the human element creates isolation and ruptures communion/community. This should be defended against at all cost!

As we celebrate the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, perhaps we can reflect on the gift of our communion with one another and ask Our Lord for grace to deepen the ways we foster our community of faith in our daily lives.

Assumption Ladies Book Club – July Meeting

Join us on Sunday, July 12th at 3 PM in Kohl’s Hall Room C as we discuss our next reading selection: The Everlasting Man by G.K. Chesterton. Originally written in 1925 in response to H.G. Wells’ Outline of History, this classic work explores what makes humanity unique and presents Christ as the center of all history. With wit and insight, Chesterton challenges modern views on religion, evolution, and culture, offering a compelling defense of Christianity and the human experience.

We recommend the 2024 Word on Fire edition with commentary by Dale Ahlquist, though readers are welcome to choose either the original or annotated version.
We hope you’ll join us for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion!

Pentecost reminds us that the Church was born not through human strength, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. The frightened disciples, once locked behind closed doors, were transformed into bold witnesses of the Gospel. The same Spirit given to them is given to us today.

In a world often marked by division, fear, and uncertainty, the Holy Spirit continues to bring unity, courage, wisdom, and peace. Pentecost challenges us not simply to admire the Spirit’s work in the past, but to open our hearts to what God desires to do in us now.

As we celebrate this great feast, let us pray for a renewed outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our families, our parish, and our world. May the Spirit help us to live our faith with joy and become instruments of Christ’s love wherever we go.

Join us May 24–25 for the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage in the Diocese of St. Augustine as pilgrims from across the country gather in the nation’s oldest Catholic city to walk with Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist.

As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, “One Nation Under God” invites all people into a sacred time of unity, healing, hope, and revival. Come as a parish, family, ministry group, or on your own as we pray for our country, our Church, and our communities.

Don’t miss the Concert Under the Stars at the Great Cross on Friday, May 22 featuring Stella, Monsignor & Sons, Sean Forrest, and Sarah Kroger for an unforgettable night of praise and worship before the pilgrimage begins.
