Jesus did not say people would be drawn to our talents, titles, or accomplishments. He said they would be drawn to Him when He is lifted up. Every believer has the opportunity to lift Christ up through the way they live. Your life may be the only sermon someone hears this week. Your kindness, integrity, forgiveness, and faith can point others toward Jesus. The question is not whether people see you; the question is whether they see Christ in you.

GMTBC REFLECTION:
- [ ] When people encounter your life, do they leave impressed with you or inspired by Him?
- [ ] What areas of my life need to better reflect Christ?

Prayer: Lord, help me to live in a way that points others to You. May my words, actions, and attitude lift up Your name and not my own. Amen.

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” — John 12:32

Pastor J. A. Battle’s message, “Help Me Lift Him Up” from John 12:30–36, centers on the truth that Jesus Christ must be exalted so that others may be drawn to Him. In a world that often promotes self, status, and personal agendas, believers are called to make Christ the focus of their lives, testimony, and service. Jesus did not ask us to draw people through our personalities, programs, or popularity. He said that if He is lifted up, He will do the drawing. Our responsibility is to exalt Him, honor Him, and make Him known. When we lift Him up in our homes, churches, workplaces, and communities, lives are changed, hearts are healed, and souls are saved.

“The more we lift up Jesus, the less people see us and the more they see the Savior.”

One of the greatest struggles believers face is trying to fight battles that God never intended for them to carry alone. We exhaust ourselves worrying, stressing, arguing, defending, and trying to control situations that are beyond our power. Yet God’s Word reminds us that some battles are not won by our strength, wisdom, or resources, they are won by His power. Sometimes God fights by changing the situation. Other times He fights by changing us in the middle of the situation. Either way, victory belongs to Him. Stop carrying what God is willing to handle. Stop losing sleep over what God is already working out. Stop fighting battles with human strength that require divine intervention. The battle may be in front of you, but the victory belongs to the Lord. When God fights for you, what was meant to destroy you becomes a testimony of His power.

In a world that celebrates self-promotion, self-glory, and self-sufficiency, God is looking for something entirely different, humility. The truth is, God cannot pour His fullness into a vessel that is already filled with pride, arrogance, and self-dependence. When we become full of ourselves, we leave little room for God to work in us. Throughout Scripture, God consistently responds to those who recognize their need for Him. The hungry are the ones who seek Him in prayer, pursue Him in worship, and depend on Him for wisdom, strength, and direction. Spiritual hunger is an admission that we cannot make it without God.

The proud may impress people, but the humble attract God’s presence. The self-satisfied stop growing, but the spiritually hungry continue to be transformed. God fills empty hearts, surrendered minds, and willing spirits. He fills those who come before Him saying, “Lord, I need You more than yesterday.” The question is not whether God is willing to fill us. The question is whether we are empty enough to receive what He wants to pour into us. Lay aside pride. Release self-reliance. Make room for God. When your hunger for Him becomes greater than your desire for recognition, success, or control, you will discover a depth of His presence you have never known before.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

In a world filled with distractions, disappointments, and demands, God extends a simple yet powerful invitation: “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” (James 4:8)

Notice that God does not force Himself upon us. He invites us into a relationship. The closer we move toward Him through prayer, worship, obedience, and faith, the more we experience His presence, power, and peace. Many people want God’s blessings but neglect God’s presence. They seek His hand but not His heart. Yet God desires intimacy before activity. He wants fellowship before favor. He wants us to know Him, not just know about Him. The enemy will do everything possible to keep you distant from God because he knows there is strength in God’s presence. But every step you take toward God is a step away from despair and a step closer to purpose. You may feel unworthy. You may feel broken. You may feel far away. Yet God’s promise remains unchanged: If you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you. Today, make time to pray. Make time to worship. Make time to listen. Make time for God.

Draw near. Seek Him. Trust Him. Watch what happens when Heaven responds to your pursuit.

GMTBC POWERFUL REMINDER: “When you make God your priority, His presence becomes your strength, His wisdom becomes your guide, and His peace becomes your portion.”

God does not always speak through noise, crowds, storms, or dramatic moments. Sometimes His greatest direction comes in a whisper. The still small voice is powerful because it reaches places that shouting cannot touch. It calms the spirit, corrects the heart, strengthens faith, and reminds us that God is near. When life is loud, fear can sound convincing. Pressure can sound urgent. People can sound persuasive. But the voice of God brings peace, wisdom, and clarity. Elijah discovered that God was not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire, but in the still small voice. That teaches us that God’s presence does not have to be loud to be strong.

The still small voice will tell you to wait when your flesh wants to move. It will tell you to pray when your emotions want to react. It will tell you to trust when your situation looks uncertain. It will lead you back to purpose when life tries to pull you away. GMTBC, learn to quiet the noise so you can hear God clearly. His whisper can shift your direction, strengthen your faith, and save your life. The voice of God may be still and small, but it carries power, peace, and purpose.

Every day, we are being influenced by something or someone. Influence is powerful because it shapes our thoughts, directs our decisions, and ultimately determines our destination. The question is not whether you are being influenced, the question is who or what is influencing you? Positive influence pushes you toward God’s purpose. It encourages growth, accountability, wisdom, and spiritual maturity. Positive influences challenge you to pray when you feel like quitting, trust God when circumstances look impossible, and walk in obedience when temptation is calling your name.

Negative influence, on the other hand, slowly pulls you away from God’s best. It may come through toxic relationships, ungodly conversations, worldly values, or environments that constantly feed doubt, fear, bitterness, and compromise. Negative influence rarely announces itself as danger. It often disguises itself as acceptance, popularity, convenience, or temporary pleasure. Consider the difference between Joshua and the ten spies. While ten spies spread fear and unbelief, Joshua and Caleb influenced others with faith and confidence in God’s promises. One group focused on the obstacles; the other focused on God. The influence they carried affected an entire nation.

The people around you matter. The voices you listen to matter. The content you consume matters. What enters your spirit eventually shows up in your character. If you continually surround yourself with negativity, negativity will begin to shape your perspective. But when you surround yourself with people who love God, speak truth, and walk in wisdom, your faith becomes stronger.
