A positive development occurred in 1914 for the Allen Chapel community when the Rosenwald School Fund provided funds for a school that was located across the road from the church.The citizen of Allen Chapel and Northampton County government matched the funds given by the Rosenwald Funds to build this school.It served children of the Allen Chapel community until the 1950s when the school consolidation led to its closing.The Rosenwald school was named Allen Chapel School.Thus the name of the church,the school,and the community was name Allen Chapel.
