Happy MJ Monday!! 🔷

We had an incredible Sunday afternoon, hanging out with the sweet kiddos of Jackson! They were troopers for hanging out with us in the heat, but popsicles saved the day! Some of our more local kids got to hang out in the air conditioning though, which everyone was grateful for!

Learning English, finding family ✨

Our new semester of English as Second Language (ESL) classes start back on Monday, August 17th!  We are looking forward to a new semester of incredible people looking to learn English. Classes are offered every Monday at 8:30am, 10:00am, and Tuesdays at 5:45pm.  We are looking for new volunteers to help in this incredible ministry. It’s so much fun and you don’t even need to know another language to be able to help out!  Reach out on our website under opportunities > missions > local missions or email [email protected] to volunteer or to find out more information.

Mission Jackson Monday (swipe for the best smile ever)!

Our sweet kiddos picked up their back-to-school backpacks and supplies Sunday afternoon… would you just look at those smiles 🥹 Pretty sure our volunteers were blessed just as much as the kids were!

Here at Englewood Baptist Church, we work in partnership with Scarlet Rope Project here in Jackson. Over the nine years of this ministry, there have been hundreds of girls from these hotels contact the Scarlet Rope Project about being rescued from trafficking. In addition to this, we also get to participate in Red Sand Project every year as well. Pouring red sand in the sidewalk cracks. Over 50 million people are trafficked globally every year. And our ministry, just like this red sand, stands to keep as many as we can from falling through the cracks.

The Cross.

That’s the reason our teams go to places like Brazil. After an entire week of pouring concrete and stacking blocks to build up the walls of a new church, one of these men made a cross from the leftover cement. Just a simple cross. But that simple cross is the reason why our church stands, and why theirs is just now starting to stand.

The impact our Brazil team had while on the ground is incredible. To be the moving and working hands and feet of Jesus is such a blessing. Multiple lives were led to Christ that week. Hundreds of pastors showed up for a conference so they could be uplifted and poured into. Hundreds of little kids feet have new shoes. And hundreds of eyes can now see better with new glasses.

Why? Because of the cross. Be ready. Brazil 2027 is coming, and we can’t wait to see who is called to go 🇧🇷

We currently have a team serving in Boston at our partner church. Here is a quick update from the team: “It’s been going great!! Team is being super flexible and making the most of everyday. We’ve had consistent kiddos in the morning (double from last year) and most of them are brand new families/kids to Milestone Church. We’ve had an older crowd in the evening, but we are pivoting and engaging with them. Thanks for praying, please continue to do so 😁 “

Multiple people have given their lives to Jesus this week.

Read that again.

While our team was building a church with their hands, God was building His church in the hearts of the people. The walls are going up and the congregation is already filling them.

And in between - our Impact Ministry team has been walking with the people, sitting with them, praying over them, speaking life into them.

This is what a mission trip really looks like. Not a project or a vacation. A move of God.

Keep praying.  Our team isn’t done yet, and neither is our God 🇧🇷

They landed. They got to work. Then this happened.

In one day, our team has already started building a church, set up a dental clinic, and this - Pastor Russ kneels down to wash a little boy’s feet, slips on new shoes, ties a salvation bracelet on his wrist, and prays over him. A moment that looks a LOT like Jesus.

This is why we go.

This is the gospel with hands and feet - literally.

We’ve already seen multiple salvations this week, including one of the guys helping with construction!

Pray for our Brazil team as they continue this week. Lives are being changed. One child, one adult, one teenager, one foot-washing, one brick, one prayer at a time.
