This week concluded our summer meal distribution sponsored by the Coalition for Appalachian Development. Each week during the summer meal program we have handed out two pallets of prepackaged meals for the children. Nearly 21,000 meals reached school age kids thanks to the team of COAD. While we are a little sad to see the end of the summer program, we are very much looking forward to being a part of this program next year.

Reminder today is the last day for the summer meal boxes. Be sure to stop and see us today from 11am to 1pm. We will miss seeing everyone each Wednesday. Thank you for making this a successful program this summer. It’s been fun and exciting.

Today our work camp group will be leaving to go back home. We are sad to see them leave. They have been a blessing to many families in Jackson County this week. It’s been wonderful spending time with them on their projects and having dinner with them in the evening. They have some fantastic chefs with them!! Thank you Curt Campbell for being a wonderful leader to this group. We welcome you back to Jackson County anytime. A special thank you to the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson for being a host church. It’s been a great week. 😊🙏🏻❤️ Prayers for them as they are traveling today.

The work camp group Church of The Saviour from Cleveland Heights, Ohio had a fun and enjoyable evening of having a water balloon fight. They have worked hard this week constructing handicap accessible mobility ramps. They deserve a little bit of fun. This was great entertainment last evening. We enjoyed spending some good quality time with them.
