WHAT IN HELL DO YOU WANT

The Lord has brought you through
Perils and despair – Addictions and woes
Delivered you from illness
Heartaches – Fought your foes

Delivered you from the past
All the hell you went through
From the devastation of your storm
That life had in store for you

But once you’ve won that battle
Growing in wisdom and gain
Overcome sickness
Heartache and pain

You look back over the past
My advice is to leave it alone
God delivered you from your hell
Now you lust to bring it back on

What is in hell
That you could possibly want
What does it have to offer
Except unwanted funk

You’ve been through it once
It’s insane to bring it on yourself again
Knock that imp off your shoulder
Whispering in your ear – for you to sin

You prayed to God for deliverance
From the storm – He brought you through
Out of the pits of hell
From the vile vomit that Satan invited you into

You should learn from your mistakes
All the do’s and don’ts
Now can you honestly tell me
“What in hell do you want”

COMMENTARY AND PRAYER – WHAT IN HELL DO YOU WANT

As I reflect on the message behind “What in Hell Do You Want?”, I am reminded of how easily the soul can become divided and pulled between the call of God and the pull of temptation. There are moments when we entertain things that grieve the Spirit, yet still expect peace to remain.

But God is not mocked. He lovingly calls us back to truth, to purity, and to wholeness in Him.

“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils…” 1 Corinthians 10:21 (KJV).

This scripture confronts me with a sobering question: Where is my loyalty truly placed? The Lord desires not partial surrender, but a whole heart.

Today, I choose to lay down anything that separates me from His presence and walk fully in His light.

Father, search my heart and reveal anything in me that is not pleasing to You. Help me to turn away from every distraction and deception that leads me away from Your truth. Draw me closer to You and strengthen my spirit to choose righteousness daily. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and To God Be The Glory!

DEVOTIONAL – WHAT IN HELL DO YOU WANT

As I write this devotional reflection on “What in Hell Do You Want,” I am compelled to speak plainly about the war that exists within the human soul. These poems expose a spiritual tension that is often ignored, the conflict between divine calling and destructive desire, between who we are created to be and what we sometimes entertain.

There is a moment in every believer’s journey when God allows truth to confront us without disguise. The question, “What in hell do you want?” is not merely poetic, it is spiritual accountability. It forces the heart to examine what it has been pursuing in secret places, what it has tolerated, and what it has justified.

Yet in contrast, “Angel” reminds me of identity. It speaks to the truth that God does not define us by our lowest moments, but by His intention for our lives. Even when we fall short, His desire is restoration, not destruction.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2 (KJV).

This scripture anchors both poems in truth. Transformation is not accidental; it is intentional surrender. The renewing of the mind is where the battle is won.

If the mind remains unchanged, life will remain divided. But when the mind is surrendered to Christ, even the deepest internal conflict can be healed.

There is also a warning embedded in this message: spiritual compromise is never neutral. What we entertain shapes what we become. What we justify eventually gains authority over us. And what begins as curiosity can become captivity if not surrendered to God.

But the hope in this message is greater than the warning.

God still calls us “Angel”, not because we are flawless, but because He sees what redemption can restore. He calls us upward, not backward. He calls us out of confusion into clarity, out of bo***ge into freedom, out of double mindedness into wholeness.

So, the real question becomes not only “What do you want?” but also “Who are you becoming?”

God is not asking to shame us, but to save us from anything that diminishes the life He designed for us.

Father God, I come before You acknowledging the places in my heart that have not fully surrendered to You. Cleanse me from every desire that pulls me away from Your will. Renew my mind and restore my identity in You. Help me to recognize the value of holiness and the beauty of obedience. Let me no longer walk in confusion but in clarity, no longer in compromise but in conviction, no longer in darkness but in Your marvelous light. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and To God Be The Glory!

“Be the one with a God-given purpose.” Read Rev. Dr. Roberta M. Heck’s short, powerful reflection on choosing compassion over being right — to nurture, build, understand, and forgive like Jesus did. Find encouragement for your week and a quick 2-minute read. https://wix.to/p4jcOoc

In a world that often values being right over being kind, God calls us to a higher standard. To be the ones who nurture, build, understand, and forgive. Jesus modeled this perfectly. He didn’t just pass through people’s lives, He changed them. He healed the broken, forgave the sinner, and restor...

LOVE

When I ask for love
It doesn't require much.
Maybe a caressing hand
Sometimes a gentle touch.

But there must be "honesty"
This is something I must persist.
That way unwanted dilemmas
Problems won't exist.

For when there are "lies" in a "friendship"
Then you're not really a friend.
Problems will soon increase
The relationship will end.

Trust is a must
It is a necessity to me.
It's on the same level
As respect and responsibility.

Responsible and reliable
These words bring truth.
For the forces of "lies"
Could and will destroy you.

So, to love is to respect
That includes honesty too.
Real "friends" are everlasting
Forever being there for you.

COMMENTARY AND PRAYER - LOVE

Love is not something I merely write about, it is something I survived because of. After the storm passed, I discovered that love was still standing. Not the fragile kind that disappears when things get hard, but the steadfast, heaven-sent love that carried me when I could not carry myself. God’s love met me in the wreckage, wrapped me in grace, and taught me that real love restores what pain tried to destroy.

The love spoken of in this poem is not rooted in emotion alone, it is anchored in God. It is patient when healing is slow, kind when wounds are deep, and faithful when the heart has every reason to shut down. Love, God’s love, is what brought me through the storm and into hope again.

“Love suffereth long and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.” 1 Corinthians 13:4

Lord, thank You for loving me through every storm, every tear, and every broken place. Teach me to receive Your love fully and to walk in that same love toward others. Heal what was damaged, restore what was lost, and let Your love be my testimony. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and To God Be The Glory!

DEVOTIONAL - LOVE

Love became real to me after everything else fell apart. Before the storm, I thought I understood love, but it wasn’t until I was broken, stripped, and searching for hope that I truly met it. The poem Love was born from that place: the space between devastation and deliverance, where God’s love showed up and refused to let go of me.

This kind of love does not depend on circumstances. It does not walk away when life gets messy or when hearts are wounded. God’s love pursued me when I felt unworthy, unseen, and undone. It covered my shame, silenced my fears, and reminded me that I was still chosen, even after the storm.

Love healed me slowly and deeply. It taught me that forgiveness is an act of courage, that grace is a lifeline, and that restoration is possible no matter how fierce the storm was. Through God’s love, I learned that pain does not get the final word, purpose does. Love does.

This devotional is a reminder that if you are standing in the aftermath of your own storm, love is still available. God’s love will rebuild what was torn down, breathe life into what feels dead, and lead you forward with hope. Love is not just something God gives, God is love, and when He is present, healing is inevitable.

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16

Father God, thank You for loving me when I was at my weakest and for never abandoning me in the storm. Help me to rest in Your love and trust You with every broken piece of my heart. Teach me to love as You love, without fear, without conditions, and without limits. Let my life reflect the healing power of Your love so that others may see You through me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and To God Be The Glory!
