ISO Summer programs for children that don't cost a fortune! Case scenario from Wingard Home Ministry:
Mother of 3 just got her children back with her, enrolled them in school (with after school care) but she is making it happen (without vouchers... because they won't qualify her), she found a great job from 7-5 weekdays. Now, she may be forced to quit her job and find something else because the summer program she chose lets out at 4 and she gets off at 5.
THIS IS SO CRAZY! We have a woman who wants to work and take care of her children, we even gave her a car so she can be mobile.

Operation Shoestring won't return her calls, some of the programs would take her children ...and her whole check as well. She is still trying to get a daycare voucher, but nothing yet. She enrolled them in We Will Go Summer camps but they have to be picked up by 4 and she can't pick them up until 5:30!

Please, please help me find a summer program for these babies (all school age) that will go to 5:30 or 6:00 and will not take all her paycheck. I know she loves her job so I don't want her to have to quit. There has to be someone out there who can help us to help her until school starts back up. ...and will somebody please join me praying for the Department of Human Services Child Care System!

Y'all, we have several of our Wingard Home folks who have saved up a little money and are looking for decent running cash cars 🚗🛻. Please help us get them in transportation so they can continue on the good road to getting on their feet by driving to work. None of them can pay any more than 1,000 to 2,000 for transportation. We are so blessed this day to have met these fellow warriors in God's army. As we serve every day in the city of Jackson MS, God is going before us and making resources available to do his good work. God connected us to Hearts for the Homeless through "Devine" appointment... when I received a call today from Pastor Andre Devine asking if we might need some coffee. Now, we surely use a lot of coffee and always seem to be near out of it! Ground coffee was on our "needs list" in our Christmas brochure. God is so good, Y'all. We are honored to serve in this city with our fellow warriors here on the front lines daily preaching the gospel through modeling the actions and behavior of Jesus. Thank you and God bless you richly, Pastor Devine and Hearts for the Homeless Ministry!

We would like to shout out a big thank you to our wonderful Christmas friends…Dr. Randy Miley, Mr. Ray Gregory and all of the art department at Mississippi College. Every year they kick off Wingard Home’s Christmas season and festivities with a wonderful dinner, activities, entertainment, and gifts for the children and adults! Here I am again looking for a job or two for my folks...all we need is a foot in the door.

I have a young mother of 2 who is looking for a job in any type of animal care. She could work the desk at a Vet's office, clean cages and tend animals, work in a pet store...etc. She does NOT have a degree, but is planning to work toward becoming a Veterinarian's assistant once she gets on her feet a little better. She is assertive and determined! She will take the driver's test next week: then, we can prayerfully help find her a little cash car for transportation. Please help me give her a fighting chance to provide for her family and stay off the government support systems. 😊

I have a young man who is interested in the restaurant and service industry. He wants to learn it from the ground up and tells me he will start in the kitchen doing dishwashing, cleaning, basic prepping so that he has experience in all areas. He is very teachable and willing to take instruction and do it your way. Do you know of any restaurants hiring for any of those positions?

I am so grateful for any leads...like I said, my folks are clean, rested, sober, and just need a chance to get back out there in the working world. Could you provide an opportunity? Call or text me at 601-906-1976.

HEY Y’ALL! Birthday Party 🥳 in the planning stages. On the 11th of this month, one of the little boys at the ministry will be 6 years old. His mom, his teenage sister and his baby brother live with us at the ministry. His name is Myon.
Since Myon’s birthday is on a school night, his Mom would like to have a party for him on Saturday the 13th.

This is a wonderful opportunity for y’all to help us show Jesus’s love to a child. Please let me know if you would like to help in some way with the party for Myon age 6. 

His favorite cartoon character is Sonic and his favorite colors are black and blue so I was thinking maybe something themed would be fun for him.

We would love to have you involved through prayer for Myon and his family, helping with the birthday party, or by sharing this post with your friends.

Friends, Prayer partners, and supporters. Thank you for all your help with plugging our folks in to the workplace. We are grateful for your eyes, ears, and big hearts out there in the workplaces. I need your help again with some new folks.

Also, please keep your hearts open to helping me find some vehicles for several of my folks. I have one young lady who has been late for work twice this week because of the city bus. She has some money saved to get a car, tag and insurance. She also has a valid drivers license.

IF YOU CAN’T HELP, SHARE, PRAY, & SPREAD THE WORD. Each one of you is very important in the process.

L.E. is 39 years old. She has experience as a PCA, a delivery driver, in food service, & as a cashier. She would like to get a position in housekeeping or food service in a hospital or rehab setting so that she is able to pursue her certification as a CNA and later an LPN. She knows she will have to start somewhere and work her way up but is willing to hit the ground running and work hard to get there. Please let me know if you are willing to help her with a “foot in the door” 😊.

I have 2 men who are looking for jobs as line cooks or any work in the kitchen. They are Greg and Joshua.

I have a man looking for work in maintenance and janitorial. He was in construction for years so is knowledgeable, but has turned 50 and is looking for something more stable and promising (a future). He wants to work where he can be a part of a team and commit to a company for growth and security.

I have a man who is a CNA and simply needs to renew his certification. He has placed an application to UMMC but hasn’t heard back from them yet. We are praying God’s will for him. Can God use you in his journey? His name is James.
