St. Luke’s is once again hosting a food drive for RIFA, and this summer we are supporting their Snack Backpack program. The RIFA Snack Backpack ministry works to fill this gap by providing kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare, nutritious food items for children who are at risk of going hungry on Saturdays and Sundays.

If you would like to participate, we are asking those who are able in the Parish bring the following items on Sundays in June and July.

June 14: Pop-Tarts
June 21: Chicken Noodle Soup (pop-tops)
June 28: Ramen Noodle (no cups)
July 5: Macaroni & Cheese (individual packets/bowls)
July 12: Ravioli (pop-tops)
July 19: any of the above

The baptism of Parker Haley, born on May 3rd to Samantha and Chase Haley, will also be taking place on this special Trinity Sunday. You won't want to miss it!

St. Luke's is celebrating Pentecost this Sunday, May 24th! All are welcome. Bring your family, bring a friend, bring someone who has never set foot in a church before. Wear red and join us for the releasing of lady bugs following both services.

Fifty days after Easter, the Church celebrates one of its most ancient and joyful feasts: Pentecost. It was on this day, as recounted in the second chapter of Acts, that the Holy Spirit descended on the gathered disciples like rushing wind and tongues of flame — and the Church was born. What had been a small, frightened band of followers was transformed into a community of bold witnesses, sent out into the world with purpose, power, and love. Pentecost is sometimes called the birthday of the Church, and like any good birthday, it is meant to be celebrated.

We would love for you to join us at St. Luke's on Sunday, May 24, as we mark this great feast together. We're inviting everyone to bring a small dish to share at coffee hour. It doesn't need to be fancy; a plate of cookies, a fruit salad, a family favorite appetizer. Come ready to celebrate, eat, and enjoy one another's company.

Hello St. Luke’s! I am excited to share the new of our new deacon appointment: meet Pam Evans. Pam will be ordained to the transitional diaconate on May 7 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and then will be with us for a year of intentional mentoring before being ordained a priest. She will primarily be joining us on Sundays and special events as she continues to work full time during the week, and you can expect to hear her preach once a month or so as schedules allow. Please join me in welcoming Pam, and journeying alongside of her this next year.

Blessings,
Jesse+
