St. Luke's is celebrating Pentecost this Sunday, May 24th! All are welcome. Bring your family, bring a friend, bring someone who has never set foot in a church before. Wear red and join us for the releasing of lady bugs following both services.
Fifty days after Easter, the Church celebrates one of its most ancient and joyful feasts: Pentecost. It was on this day, as recounted in the second chapter of Acts, that the Holy Spirit descended on the gathered disciples like rushing wind and tongues of flame — and the Church was born. What had been a small, frightened band of followers was transformed into a community of bold witnesses, sent out into the world with purpose, power, and love. Pentecost is sometimes called the birthday of the Church, and like any good birthday, it is meant to be celebrated.
We would love for you to join us at St. Luke's on Sunday, May 24, as we mark this great feast together. We're inviting everyone to bring a small dish to share at coffee hour. It doesn't need to be fancy; a plate of cookies, a fruit salad, a family favorite appetizer. Come ready to celebrate, eat, and enjoy one another's company.
