The disciple-making process at First Baptist Jackson consists of four elements:

Gather
Gathering in worship, Sunday School, and small groups gives believers an opportunity to fellowship and build relationships with other believers while also growing in God’s Word. Special events such as VBS and Carols by Candlelight are another way to gather. Grow
D•Groups are small groups of believers who desire

a deeper walk with Christ and want to make disciples who make disciples. This model follows the example that Christ set and is how discipleship is accomplished in the lives of believers, and, ultimately, within the local church. Give
At FBJ, every member is expected to find a place to serve within the church. This may be serving in the Preschool area or on the media team, teaching a Sunday School class or leading another group, singing in the choir, or some other way. Learn more about FBJ’s ministry areas or specific ways you can serve the church at the links below. Go
As Christians, we are ambassadors for Christ. We are to be salt and light in the workplace, school, neighborhood, and places of recreation. Other ways to go are to serve with FBJ’s local ministry partners or to go on a short-term mission trip. Finally, we should be open to God’s call to full-time vocational ministry.

Believers have been saved from the penalty of sin, are being saved from the power of sin, and one day will be saved from the presence of sin.

“What excites me most about the Committed Campaign and the debt retirement initiative is the financial freedom and margin it would create for First Baptist Jackson. Becoming debt-free would allow the church to focus more fully on community missions and ministry opportunities rather than financial obligations. Every dollar no longer directed toward debt service becomes another opportunity to invest directly in discipleship, outreach, families, students, and the many ways the church serves the community. It positions us to say “yes” to the doors God opens for First Baptist Jackson.

Looking toward the future, being debt-free allows us to trust God boldly, dream bigger, respond freely to His calling. The Committed Campaign allows the church to steward His resources in a way that maximizes Kingdom impact. It has been especially encouraging to watch multiple generations within the church share a common mission. This initiative is about far more than finances — it is about creating opportunities for ministry that will impact lives and generations to come.” - Matthew Castle
