Last Sunday, Pastor Seth continued our “Grow Deeper to Reach Farther” series by walking us through Psalm 119:41–64. 🌿📖

One truth stood out:

A love for God’s Word creates a courageous faith in us.

The psalmist wasn’t living an easy, trouble-free life. He faced opposition, mockery, and trials—but instead of turning away from God, he leaned harder into His Word.

That’s such an important reminder for us. ❤️

When life gets difficult, we don’t have to depend on our own strength. We can go back to what God has already spoken. His Word reminds us of His promises, steadies us when circumstances feel uncertain, and gives us courage to keep walking faithfully.

And that kind of faith is built through habit.

📖 Read His Word.
💗 Love His Word.
🙏 Pray His Word.
🌱 Obey His Word.
💪 Let His Word strengthen you.

The more time we spend rooted in Scripture, the stronger our roots become. And when the trials come—and they will—we can stand with a faith that is stronger, more courageous, and more faithful.

Even in trials, lean on God’s Word.

Our prayer this week is that God would give us an even greater love for His Word and help us make it part of our everyday lives so that we can continue to GROW DEEPER TO REACH FARTHER. 🌿

Join us this Sunday at First Baptist Church of Jackson at 10:30 a.m. as we continue growing together! 🤍

🌳 GROW DEEPER TO REACH FARTHER 🌳

What happens to a tree when it’s separated from its source of water? It becomes dry, weak, parched, and eventually stops producing fruit.

The same can happen in our spiritual lives.

When we rely on ourselves for our strength, eventually we become depleted. But when we plant ourselves firmly in God’s Word, He sustains us. 💧📖

Psalm 1 describes the person who delights in God’s Word as “a tree planted by streams of water”—one that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither.

Jeremiah 17 gives us the same beautiful picture: when our trust is in the Lord, we can remain green and fruitful even when the heat comes and drought surrounds us.

🌱 Deeper roots → Greater stability → Spiritual growth → Lasting fruit → Farther impact

Storms will come. Difficult seasons will come. There may even be seasons that feel like drought.

The goal isn’t to build a life without storms—it’s to develop roots deep enough to withstand them.

And those roots grow when we continually return to the truth of God’s Word.

Stronger roots. Better fruit. Farther reach. All for His glory. 🌳❤️
