Grow Deeper to Reach Farther — Psalm 119

Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm in the Bible, but its message can be summed up in one powerful truth: God’s Word matters for every part of our lives.

Throughout this Psalm, we see a deep love for God’s Word—a love rooted in the faithfulness of God Himself. God keeps His Word. His promises are trustworthy. His truth gives us direction, strength, wisdom, and life. ❤️

Psalm 1:3 describes a person rooted in God as being like a tree planted beside streams of water. 🌳 Just as a tree continually draws what it needs from the water around it, we need to continually draw life from God’s Word.

That’s what our new sermon series, “Grow Deeper to Reach Farther,” is all about.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll dig into Psalm 119 and discover what happens when we don’t just read God’s Word—but reflect on it, trust it, and apply it to our everyday lives.

Pastor Seth preached a powerful sermon yesterday titled: DO I I NEED TO BE SAVED? ✝️

Salvation isn’t about being a “good person.” It isn’t earned through good works, good morals, church attendance, or trying harder. We need Jesus.

There is a bridge between our sin and a holy God that we cannot cross on our own. But Jesus made the way through the cross. ❤️

“Repent and believe in the gospel.” — Mark 1:15

When we repent and place our faith in Christ, He saves us by grace. But salvation doesn’t mean we simply say “yes” to Jesus and then go right back to living however we want.

God begins changing us. That lifelong process is sanctification.

We stay rooted in His Word.
🙏 We pray.
❤️ We repent when we fall.
🤝 We walk in fellowship and accountability.
✝️ We deny ourselves and take up our cross daily.

Some days the road will still have rain. Some days the storms may feel close enough to see in the rearview mirror. But we don’t have to turn around and return to who we were.

Jesus saved us—and He is still working in us.

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6

You can’t earn your way across the bridge. You can only come through the cross.

Repent. Believe the Gospel. Trust Jesus. Follow Him daily.

He saves. He sanctifies. He keeps us. And one day, He will bring us home. ✝️☀️

💙 Guest Speaker Mark Easton shared a powerful message on Guarding Your Heart 💙

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Imagine your heart as a spring. If the source is pure, the water that flows from it brings life, hope, and refreshment. But if the source becomes polluted, everything downstream is affected.

The same is true of our lives.

Our words flow from our hearts.
Our actions flow from our hearts.
Our attitudes flow from our hearts.
Our choices flow from our hearts.

That’s why God calls us to guard our hearts—not with fear, but with His truth.

Fill your heart with God’s Word. Spend time in prayer. Surround yourself with people who point you to Christ. Be mindful of what you allow into your mind because what takes root in your heart will eventually be seen in your life.

The beautiful truth is this: no matter how far you’ve wandered, God always welcomes you back. His grace restores, His mercy renews, and His love never runs dry.

Today, ask yourself:
What is flowing from my heart?

May it overflow with the love, peace, joy, and hope that only Jesus can give.

❤️ Guard your heart.
💧 Stay rooted in Christ.
✨ Let His life flow through yours.
