What an incredible time we had with Jesus yesterday! We looked into the book of Proverbs to learn how favoritism causes others to feel left out. When we choose to love everyone like God does, we're sailing the right course, because we can be wise by not choosing sides.

Parents, here are some recap questions to ask at home this week:
-What is better to have than riches? A good name.
-What were the two types of people that the Bible story from Proverbs 22 talked about? Rich and poor.
-Whether we are rich or poor, what do all of us have in common? God made us all.
-Read James 2:9. What does this verse say about favoritism? That favoritism is a sin and goes against what God wants us to do.

Hello, September! For this month at Love & Truth Kids, we will be going through the books of Psalms and Proverbs!

Did you know that every day is full of adventures that we get to choose? Some adventures are small, like choosing which book to read. Others are bigger, like deciding how to react when a family member makes us upset. It’s not always easy to know what is best but there is hidden treasure you can take into every choice: wisdom. Wisdom is a valuable gift that helps people choose what’s best. Together we can choose wisdom, by not choosing sides, choosing our words carefully, choosing to do good, and choosing God!

Join us each Sunday at 8:30am, 10:00am, or 11:30am to see how to live out these truths!

Yesterday we followed the Queen of Sheba's visit to Solomon’s kingdom to see if the hype about his wisdom was true. Even though Solomon had royal attention and big applause, what mattered most was his relationship with God, because when you’re loved by God, you don’t need to be liked by everyone.

Parents, here are some recap questions to ask at home this week:
-Why did the queen of Sheba come to visit Solomon? To see if what she heard about Solomon's wisdom was true.
-What did she do when she came? Asked him hard questions and brought gifts.
-Was she impressed? How do you know? Yes, because she said Solomon's wisdom and wealth were even greater than she had heard.
-Read 1 Kings 10:8-9. What did the queen of Sheba say about God's role in Solomon's success? That God had made Solomon king because God loved and wanted to bless the people of Israel.

We will see you on Wednesday for LTK Encounter night at 6:30pm, and then we're back on Sunday morning at 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:30am for week 1 of "Choose Your Own Adventure"!
