Last week was Palm Sunday. We celebrated the short-lived triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This was one of the few times that Jesus allowed Himself to be exulted as King while on this earth. Our main focus was this: if we are followers of Christ, how do we welcome others through the love of Christ?

This week Christ has risen! He has risen indeed! Alleluia! Romans 6:4, “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Last week our lesson was about Jesus raising His friend Lazarus from the dead. An incredible miracle which amazed the people and glorified God. These events did not go as planned by Mary and Martha however. This was a lesson to trust God’s timing and decisions. But something else is also happening. This miracle also set into motion the final days of Jesus on this earth. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back as far as the religious leaders were concerned.

This week we celebrate Palm Sunday. This is Jesus’ final entry into Jerusalem before His crucifixion. The people don’t know this yet, they are celebrating their king! The excitement is real. The love is genuine. So the lesson for us is to welcome all people with this same genuine love, especially those who are feeling low and unworthy. Make them feel worthy through the love of Jesus Christ.

Last week, Jesus gave a blind man back his sight. For the first time in his life, he could see. But he received more than his sight. He received his life. He received freedom. But most importantly, he received faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. My prayer is that we all receive new sight to see others who need to meet their Savior, Jesus.

This week we see Jesus raise his friend Lazarus from the dead. Incredible! But it doesn’t go as his sisters wanted or expected. So often in our lives, God doesn’t respond the way we want Him to. Sometimes it feels like He doesn’t respond at all, like He’s forgotten about us. But this isn’t the case.
Come and join us Sunday at 9:15 to find out why.

All are welcome!

Last week we talked about equality and Living Water. Jesus was the original advocate for equality. With His conversation between the Samaritan woman at the well and Himself, Jesus breaks down every social barrier, setting an example for us to follow. But He does something else. He offers her living water, the love of God that never runs dry.

Today’s lesson tells the story of a man born blind whose sight is restored by Jesus. But the real transformation in the story is about learning to see—seeing God at work, seeing others with compassion, and seeing our own lives with new hope.

Come join us Sunday at 9:15 and answer the question of how Jesus might be opening your eyes. All are welcome!
