The Quarantine Ministry

We had such a nice time today! Thanks to everyone who participated!

Today we studied longsuffering as a fruit of the Spirit. We read that even Jesus himself suffered but we can learn from the way he handled hardships and his raw emotions.
The way we can apply it to our own lives is to humble ourselves before God and cast it all on Him. This means to be honest with Him about how we feel about our circumstances. Tell Him when we’re upset or confused. And always pray that no matter how we feel, we want His will above ours.

These are the scriptures we studied:

Galatians 5: 19-26
Lays out the foundation of the fruits of the Spirit and how it relates to our walk.

Genesis 3
This is where suffering began.

Mark 14:32-42, Luke 22:39-46
This is where we see Jesus at a troubling and vulnerable place.

We had such an amazing experience serving Tent City yesterday! Not only were we able to give, but they were able the give back to us. They offered new perspectives on faith, wisdom, and their personal testimonies on their walks with God. For example, we met a man with a hymnal in his hand. He sang for us, shared his spiritual encounters, and allowed me to pray for him. And as another lady shared her story, she said something that I’ll never forget. “I’m not lost, I’m hurt.” Its a place I know many of us have been. It just looks different for each person. You can have a relationship with God and still lose your way. As another man expressed to me, “God never stops, we just do.” He’s always speaking and always blessing. Sometimes we just don’t stop to recognize him.

We’re so blessed and thankful to Natchez’s Community Outreach Coordinator Jessica Hawkins and Pastor Dywon Lewis and Dew Right Ministries for the opportunity to serve the City of Natchez this morning! It felt amazing to clean up debris from the winter storms and giving out water and care packages to the citizens. We had a blast while doing it too! Definitely can’t wait for more opportunities to help all of God’s People 💪🏾💜
