Heidelberg Catechism
Question 1: What is your only comfort in life and death?
Answer: That I am not my own, but belong body and soul, in life and in death to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ; He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me whole-heartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him. AMEN!

Colossians 3:8-11

Main Idea: Since we have died and been raised with Christ to now live our lives in Christ, by the grace and help of His Spirit we will put away the sins that remain in us as we put on who we are now in Christ.

Colossians 3:8-11

Main Idea: Great faith is knowing that Jesus is your only hope and so you pray and persevere with humility.

Matthew 15:21-28
21 And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” 23 But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 26 And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27 She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.

Main Idea: Since we have died and been raised with Christ to now live our lives in Christ, we will seek and set our minds on the things that are above until that day when we will appear with Christ in glory.

1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
