For the Christian, divine healing is more than a promise; it is a benefit of redemption. As far as God is converned, it is a past tense reality rather than a promise to fulfill. Salvation includes our healing, along with the forgiveness of sins, and grants us a legal right to be healed through the finished work of Christ. Rather than waiting for God to heal you, recognize that He has already done so. Now, the decision lies with you to possess your inheritance.

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

This word 'saved' is translated from the Greek word sozo, which means to be "healed spiritually and healed physically" - healed in body and healed in soul, or saved from sin and saved from sickness. Did you know that Jesus bore our sickness and disease at the same time He bore our sins? I had been a Christian for many years before I understood this redemptive reality. I knew that it was God's will for me to be well and that healing was available but I did NOT know that healing was a part of (included in) Redemption! Learning this truth, changed my life as a Believer. No longer did I have to wait for God to heal me. He already had! It was past tense just like the forgiveness of my sins! Healing is for THIS side of heaven! Believe the Scriptures and possess your healing NOW!!

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” Mat. 8:16-17
