For those that didn’t not hear it in person last night; we will not be having children’s and youth classes next Wednesday Night. Next Wednesday night is the annual business meeting and all are welcome to attend, but only members will be voting. Only nursery class will be available for younger children as necessary.

Okay Southside kiddos we're going to have a New Year's Eve party THIS Sunday during Kid's Church Service! Wear some white or neon colors if you have it, anything that is blacklight reactive will be more fun for you, but definitely not necessary. See you Sunday!

When Thinking of the Christmas Season, we often feel both excitement and stress due to all the activities that will take place. Gatherings with our families are wonderful but also demanding of our time and energy. We can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed and exhausted with the schedule. In the midst of all that, don't forget to take some time to remember and celebrate the coming of our Savior, Christ Jesus. In the quiet and still of a night in Bethlehem there rang out the song of the angels celebrating his birth. The shepherds ran to find Jesus, born to Mary and Joseph, lying in a manger. There was no great celebration by men, just a quiet moment to behold the Savior Messiah who came to save this world by the forgiveness of their sins. (Luke 1:77) Don't miss having your quiet moment to contemplate the significance of his coming and bow in worship to the one for whom this season is meant to celebrate. Thank God that a Savior was born to us that night in Bethlehem.

Our youth had such a great night at The Merge! We "merged" with the youth groups from Jackson First, Celebrate Church & Brandon Assembly for a youth service with walking tacos for supper & cookies & brownies for dessert followed by give-a-way drawings, a game, worship led by Celebrate Church's Youth Band & a powerful message brought by our Distrcit NextGen Pastor, Matt Taylor. It was a good night!

Our youth (grades 7-12) will be attending the youth rally tomorrow night for The Awakening, which is the youth focus of the MS Go Tell Crusade. We'll be meeting up about 5pm to ride together in the van & I'll be sending texts to all those who've signed up later this afternoon with the details. Good afternoon Southside Student Ministries Peeps... just a reminder that TONIGHT is our SSM FALL KICK-OFF SERVICE! Doors will open at 6:15 & we'll have FREE PIZZA in the Cafe with service following a short time of fellowship. Don't miss it as we'll have some games with prizes in addition to the FREE PIZZA! Tomorrow, August 6th, will be our "Move Up Day" for all students K-12th grades. Many have started school over the last few weeks & the rest should all be started by the end of this coming week, so we want to present each of them with a special gift at church tomorrow & pray over them as a congregation, as they start this new year. Please check kiddos in, as usual, & Pastor Connie will direct you to any room changes that may apply to them, but they do need to be checked in by the beginning of service in order to not miss out. Youth Service TOMORROW! Students start out in main sanctuary for main service (Ms. Jenn will have a section reserved for y'all) then leaders & students will go across the street to the Student Ministries Building during the offering for the remainder of service time. This is for all upcoming 6th graders through 12th graders.
