YOUR RESPONSE MATTERS;……… My dear brother and sister, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry ( James 1:19 ). When we’re in difficult situations, it isn’t always easy to say calm or hold our tongues for very long. But like James says in (James 1:19 ), we hear how we should respond….
Be quick to listen. Be slow to speak. Be slow to anger. The world is the opposite: Be slow to hear what others have to say. Be quick to voice your own opinions. Be quick to accuse, argue, and fight. Why is it so important to James that Christ’s followers don’t behave like this? Because “ human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires “ ( James 1:20 ). So what does produce the right kind of living that God desires? The Word of God. James told his friends to “ get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you “ ( James 1:21 ). He said that if they have the Word of God in them, and if they obeying it, they would be blessed ( James 1:25 ). James is clear that if we are to be followers of God, we must know God’s Word and obey it. That means we need to take time to listen to others, pace ourselves when we speak, and keep our anger at bay. So next time you’re faced with something that makes you angry; take James’ words to heart. Take time to temper your emotions, think through your feelings and arguments, and humbly pray for God to help you respond with kindness and grace.

HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY CHURCH;…….. This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each another. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you are a part of it
( 1 Corinthians 12:25-27 ). All of us, together, are part of Jesus’s body the Church. Together we reflect who He is and what He has done. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we receive His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to live like Jesus by equipping us with unique gifts we can use to strengthen and encourage the Church. And when we listen to the Holy Spirit, He draws us closer to God and to each other. And because it is the same Spirit at work within each us, everyone who belongs to Jesus is part of His body, and has a unique role to play. But just as a physical body will not function unless everything works together, the Church will not function the way it was intended unless we are receptive to the work of the Spirit in us, and committed to putting Jesus first. The Church is healthy when it works together united in its desire to love people like Jesus did, and serves others the way Jesus did. Practically, this could look like serving the people we see at the store, on the street, or at a Church service. It could look like inviting someone to your house for a meal, helping someone find a job, being a safe space for a vulnerable family, or financially supporting a non -profit. If we’re Christians, then we’re part of Jesus’ body—His Church—and we have a unique role to play in building it up. We are called to use the gifts the Holy Spirit gives us to encourage and sacrificially serve each other, staying united in our love for our Savior. When we do that, Jesus shines through us and touches a broken world in need of hope. So today, what can you do to serve and support the body of Christ? Jesus’ body is our body-so let’s treat it with care. It is this body that God has chosen to show His love to a hurting world.
