🎨Beautifully Broken Ministries is honored to welcome back talented local artist and author, Kayla Walker, to this year’s Unlocked Women’s Conference!

🗝Kayla is first a daughter of the King. She is blessed to be the wife of Ryan Walker —an orthotic fitter and drum instructor. Together they are raising 5 beautiful girls between the ages of 11 and 24. Life is full.

📚Kayla is also an artist, author, illustrator, educator at Southwest Ms Community College, and speaker who believes creativity flows from our connection with the Father—the ultimate Creator. Through workshops, retreats, and speaking engagements, Kayla creates spaces where people can slow down, listen, and engage in meaningful creative practices that foster connection—with God, with themselves, and with others. Her approach emphasizes that creativity is meant to move beyond the canvas and into everyday life.

Her guiding philosophy is simple but powerful: Connect. Create. Contribute.

✝First, connect with the Father—the ultimate Creator and source of inspiration.
Then create from that place of divine connection.
Finally, contribute those gifts to the world in ways that bring beauty, hope, and restoration.

Kayla is a part of two local nonprofit ministries - Anchored Grief Retreats and Beautifully Broken Ministries - both strive towards providing community in the midst of spiritual healing.

Whether leading an art workshop, speaking at a retreat, or creating in the studio, Kayla’s mission is to guide others to connect with the Father, create from His inspiration, and contribute their gifts in Kingdom building ways.

Strong women have bad days too.
Strong women battle the race of thoughts in their heads.
Strong women break too.

There are days we just don’t want any responsibility.

We don’t want to interact. Be wanted. Be needed. We just want to withdraw. It’s easier.

We know we are blessed but the negative thoughts continue to crowd our minds. All of the issues. Things going wrong. Relationships crumbling. The loss. It’s becoming too much. Feels like an avalanche.

We know we should cry out to God in prayer but it’s easier to just be silent. We wouldn’t even know what to ask of Him if we could utter words. It’s all jumbled up and doesn’t even make sense enough to write it down; much less speak it.

So we sit in silence. Alone. Numb. Waiting for the Holy Spirit to intervene.

And maybe that’s where grace meets us.

Because even in the silence, God is not absent. Even when we cannot pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words. Even when our faith feels weak, His grip on us is not.

Strong women are not women who never break. They are women who keep returning to the One who binds up the brokenhearted.

So if today you are tired, numb, overwhelmed, or barely holding it together—know this: you are not failing. You are human. And the same God who meets us on the mountaintops also sits with us in the ashes.

The avalanche may feel heavy, but it will not have the final word. Morning still comes. Joy still returns. Healing is still possible. And when you cannot carry yourself, God is still carrying you.

Sometimes strength looks less like standing tall and more like whispering, “Lord, help me,” and trusting that even silence is heard in heaven.

We couldn't be more thrilled to have Pastor Andrea Reid as our special guest this year at Unlocked!🗝

🗝Pastor Andrea Reid serves as the Executive Pastor of CityHeart Church in Jackson, MS. She serves alongside her husband, Pastor Kevin Reid, who is the Senior Pastor of the church.

🙌🏾Pastor Andrea has served in many leadership capacities in ministry and non-profits, such as Children's Pastor, Operations Executive, and Worship Leader. Together with her husband, she helps to oversee two church plants within the United States; Keys Church in Kissimee, Florida and Purpose City Church in Aurora, IL. She is currently Vice President of the Board and a coalition leader for the Downtown Coalition of Bridging the Gap Ministries here in Jackson, which is led by Executive Director, Cameron Tate. Pastor Andrea has also served as a member of the Partners in Education Community Advisory Board, under the leadership of Thea Faulkner.

🤝🏽In addition to her leadership experience, Pastor Andrea loves helping people find freedom, acheive wholeness, and develop leadership skills by providing private coaching and conseling services to businesses, small groups, and individuals as a Mental Health, Wellness, Trauma, and Leadership coach. She is one of many coaches with Eyrie Success Leadership Organization, a women-led, black-owned company.

💛Although not born in Jackson, Pastor Andrea considers Jackson her home, as she was raised in the city during her formative years and graduated high school here in Jackson. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Duke University in Durham, NC and a degree in Pastoral Ministries from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK. She and her husband have been married over 17 years and are proud parents of their daughters Kristina and Rachel and son KJ.

🗝Lacey and her husband Daniel lead Hilltop Church in the heart of downtown Jackson. Together they also lead CareCenter Ministries Mississippi, a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and hunger through residential and community outreach programs.

⭐In this season of life, Lacey is passionate about:

-What Jesus is doing in His church across the globe
-Building up and making disciples through the local church
-Studying and teaching God’s Word
