I am one person, not all people. The leader/president of a nation is the leader/president of all people, not one person or special interest group. I am a modern day American, not an ancient Israelite. There are really good reasons why God said it is a really bad idea for Israel to want and have a king. Israel resisted and insisted; God relented but provided guidelines. Israel shirked the guidelines and received Assyrian and Babylonian overlords as their reward in a foreign land that required a "second exodos." The church is established on the bedrock of the "third exodos" (Luke 9:28-36). It is the new Israel, not the USA or any other nation. God's kingdom exists wherever there is a church. It is cardiology, not geography.
