Worshipping through music is a huge part of how we worship Mission Saint James. We’re grateful the Lord has brought us talented and willing musicians to lead us in music, as we worship the One true and living God.

What is baptism? Why do Anglicans call it a sacrament? Why do Anglicans baptize infants? This week, we celebrate the baptism of one of our own! Baptism is our entrance into the covenant community of Christ’s Church. Join Fr. Ben Williams this week as we explore these questions and why baptism is so important to the Christian faith. What a gift it is to share in the sacrament of baptism for a new little one in our congregation! We’re grateful for parents and community who long to nurture and disciple children with the help of the church. It’s a gift to be sealed by the Holy Spirit, and our prayer is always that these little ones would know the love of Jesus and cling to Him all the days of their life.

What happens when you lose control? Do you step further into the chaos or do you panic and succumb to fear and doubt? What if you weren’t meant to have control? We’re grateful for all the hands that take part in putting on our Sunday Eucharist services. From taking care of children, to welcoming people and adorning the altar with beauty, everything comes together and God always provides for us. What is the Kingdom of God? Where can we find it? Jesus’ parables describe God’s Kingdom, but don’t explicitly define it. As His parables suggest, the kingdom seems small, hidden, and insignificant. This week, Fr. Ben Williams shares a message on the small and slow growth of God’s Kingdom, not only in our lives, but especially in His Church…even Mission Saint James. This past week, our youth participated in the Anglican Diocese of the South youth camp! They had a great time learning spiritual disciplines, playing games, doing a service project, and listening to the Holy Spirit’s guidance on their hearts. We’re thankful for what the Lord is doing and prayerful they will continue to seek Him as they settle back in to the routines of life.

Why is it so difficult to live the Christian life? Why is it so difficult to live life in general? Why do bad things happen to good people? It’s because the devil has sown weeds among the wheat. God has planted within you his love, his kindness, his abilities, all of the fruits, all of the gifts––God lives within you…and since [He] lives within you, there will be weeds cast in your life. Remove them, for there is a judgment coming; you do not want to keep living in the weeds. This week, visiting preacher, Dr. Gary Osborne, shares a convicting and encouraging message about relying on God’s grace and mercy when weeds grow up around us. Listen at the link in our bio.

We believe that prayer is so important at Mission Saint James. The prayers of the faithful availeth much. Prayers are like sweet smelling aroma. And did you know that Jesus intercedes for us with groans that words can’t express. We are so grateful the Lord is answering our prayers right now and praise Him for the new life and faith He is giving us. We’d love for you to participate in His goodness with us.
