Today is FDOS, first day of school. I hate it. I have always hated it. I have made an effort to stay in touch with what I was like in my own childhood, teens and young adulthood so I can empathize with people of all ages. One thing I definitely remember is that feeling of being robbed of Summer vacation. It was great while it lasted, but it didn’t last long. My school years didn’t seem to last very long either. Life just passes quickly. Eternity, on the other hand will have no end. Now is the time to make things right between you and God.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:15: Let him walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise.
Peter wrote in I Peter 3:15: Let him seek good and eschew evil; let him seek peace and ensue it.
So we are to look all around us, know what is going on, make wise choices, and do good, and we are to seek peace pray for it, work for it, and as the Lord Jesus said, pray for our enemies and those who despitefully use us.
Looking around, it is not hard to see who reacts to principals with which they don’t agree with hatred and violence (evil), and also the ones who are trying to preserve Christian principles and the rights and laws on which we were founded with peaceful efforts. Pray for guidance and vote your heart.

Today, after almost four months in the hospital, Sis. Vickie Lee is going home. We are grateful to the Lord and to the compassionate staff at Houston Methodist for her healing. She now begins a thirty day recuperation period and will resume the difficult job of being the Pastor’s wife. Praise the Lord.
