Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This Sunday, May 24th is Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost takes place seven weeks after Easter and marks the moment when the Holy Spirit came to the apostles. Pentecost, celebrated 50 days after Easter, is described as the birth of the Church. On this day, the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles in a rush of wind and tongues of fire, empowering them to preach the Gospel to all nations. The role of the Holy Spirit in sanctification purifies and reminds believers of all things that Jesus taught them. Join in wearing red this Sunday as we celebrate the amazing gift of the Holy Spirit and the power He gives us to GO and make disciples. RED represents the Holy Spirit, passion, blood, fire, God’s love, and martyrdom.
