Family Life Church Iva

Family Life Church Iva We believe that all Scripture points us to Christ and is sufficient to lead to the fulfillment of our vision.

Mission, Vision, and Values of Family Life Church

Mission: "By the Word of God"
-Our mission is for our lives, ministry, actions, and decisions to all be by the Word of God. Vision: "Family finding life in Christ"
-Our vision is to be a family that is finding our life in Jesus alone. He is our hope, rest, assurance, joy, salvation, and Lord. We have died to our old selves, and our life is hidde

n with Christ. No matter where you are in your journey, let's take your next step in finding life in Christ together. Values: Scriptural Fidelity, Missionality, Family, Theology, Simplicity, Intentionality
Values: Scriptural Fidelity, Missionality, Family, Theology, Simplicity, Intentionality
-Scriptural Fidelity: Scripture is our rule. If we cannot base it upon Scripture then we don't do it. We strive to do all that Scripture teaches and nothing that it doesn't. This applies to all areas of church and life.
-Missionality: God has placed us in Iva in order to be on mission for Him. We are called to share the gospel, love others, and serve. We will be intentional about engaging this community and beyond with the good news of Jesus! Evangelism and making disciples for the glory of God is what we are all about doing.
-Family: We believe in the importance of being a church family and building up individual families. We desire to invest in families in our church, in our community, in the larger kingdom of God, and to specifically focus on discipling the next generation.
-Theology: We are convinced that a right understanding of God leads to right worship and practice. As we study the deeper things of who God is and how He works, we believe that will draw people to Him for salvation as well as bring people to their knees in adoration. Theology, evangelism, discipleship, and practicality are not mutually exclusive, but rather a biblical theology motivates, empowers, and guides each of these things.
-Simplicity: We believe that church should be simple (though not easy). We are not called to do everything, fill every calendar slot, or run every program. However, Scripture does call us to do a few things very well. If we can't do it faithfully and biblically then we don't need to do it.
-Intentionality: We want to be intentional about doing the things God has called us to do. We want to purposefully take the steps necessary to reach others with the gospel, make space for family worship time, invest in discipleship, prioritize the things of the Lord, build relationships, and more.

These are Paul’s final words to the elders of the church in Ephesus as he marched off to certain imprisonment, affliction, and eventually death. They are beautiful, challenging, powerful, and sobering, and Christ-exalting. Join us Sunday at 10am at Family Life Church in the Iva Civic Center as we discuss this powerful passage of Scripture! Invite a friend! It’s gonna be good!

Ecuador Prayer Request Update
Church Family,

For the last few weeks we have been praying for our missionaries in Ecuador as they try to navigate some issues between different tribal groups. For years, they have been trying to get indigenous tribes to work together and form a ministry network in order to better reach the tribes in the Amazon. However, there were several divisions and issues between tribes creating difficulty, and we have been praying that God will bring unity and resolution. Below is an update from the Pifers (the missionaries we help sponsor). God brought the tribes together, created a spirit of unity, and a tribal ministry network has officially been formed! Praise the Lord for changing hearts and for the work He is doing in the Amazon!

Here is the update:
Thank you for praying!
The Indigenous of Ecuador felt God led them to form a network!
I’d like to introduce to you…. The leaders of ULICAE, the Union of Christian Indigenous Leaders of the Amazon in Ecuador! 🇪🇨
(Ecuador’s leaders are pictured in the lower row, the group of men above them are the leaders of the TransAmazon Network)
It was beautiful to watch these brothers and sisters come together to make this decision, and the humility the leaders displayed as they accepted their roles to lead the network…. They have counted the costs of serving the Lord in this capacity and take this responsibility seriously.
We are excited to see what God leads this group to do, and excited to walk alongside!
Everyone, thank you for praying!!!

Every Sunday, we close our service by singing The Doxology followed by a prayer of commission. Why? The Sunday service is about God, not us. We get benefit from being there, but we are not the “audience.” The Sunday service is a gift of worship presented to God. He is the audience. Therefore, we close each service with one last proclamation of praise that stands as a reminder for us to live out the week worshiping God in all that we think, say, and do. Looking for a body of believers to worship Jesus with on Sunday? We’d love to have you join us Sunday at 10am to give worship to Him!
***Also, hearing our littlest ones sing along is one of the most precious things!

Colossians 3:16-17

[16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. [17] And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
