TOPIC: View, Meditation and Conduct: the Three Key Elements of a Buddhist practice
DATE: May 29 to 31, 2026
Cost: $100 Through Zoom meeting.

Desceription:
To receive the full benefits of a Buddhist practice, we must deepen our view of the nature of reality, meditate on the teachings we hear or the texts we read, and be always mindful of our conduct, ensuring that we never harm others and hopefully benefit them. All three elements of a practice are essential. If we develop all three elements equally, our minds should become more peaceful and more capable of dealing with stress and conflict. During this weekend intensive, Geshe-la will provide instruction and opportunity for discussion about starting or maintaining a Buddhist practice. These teachings are suitable for students just beginning a practice as well as students with more experience

TOPIC: Seven Point Mind Training: A comprehensive set of meditations for overcoming difficulties and creating lasting happiness:

DATE: April 24 to 26, 2026

Cost: $100 Through Zoom meeting.

Desceription:
In the West, spiritual practitioners most often think of meditation in terms of mindfulness or calm-abiding practices. However, the Tibetan Buddhist tradition has also developed several powerful reflective or analytical practices that train us to become more familiar with new, more positive ways of seeing ourselves and others, even when we feel surrounded by chaos and discord. These practices help us overcome negative habitual patterns and create more constructive ones, thus leading to a more lasting, sustainable form of happiness.

The Seven Point Mind Training was originally taught by the Indian Nalanda Master Atisha in Tibet and compiled by his student Geshe Chekawa into a deeply meaningful set of instructions.

During this weekend intensive Geshe-la will provide instruction and opportunity for practice in utilizing these mind training meditations to transform our minds so that we can overcome difficulties and create lasting happiness in our daily lives.

Schedule:

Notice Title: TOPIC: Accumulating Merit: Practice of the Seven Limb Prayer with Geshe Ngawang

Date: March 27-March 29, 2026
Cost: $100 Through Zoom meeting.

Description:
As we progress on the path of our Dharma practice, accumulating merit (positive energy) is essential to sustaining our efforts and developing good qualities that help lead us to enlightenment. The recitation and contemplation of the Seven Limb Prayer is an excellent method for accumulating merit in our daily practices. Through this prayer we deepen our meditation practice and strengthen our connection with our spiritual mentors, lineage masters and meditational deities along with the assembly of all the buddhas, bodhisattvas and other enlightened beings. During our meditation session, after taking refuge and generating bodhicitta, we recite the Seven Limb prayer and tap into the meaning of these practices. The seven limbs are: prostrating, making offerings, confessing negativities, rejoicing in virtue, requesting Dharma teachings, requesting the buddhas to remain until the end of cyclic existence and dedication of the merits of the practice. These practices help to enhance our positive aspirations and energy so that our minds are opened to deeper levels and our meditation practice becomes more effective.

During this weekend intensive, Geshe-la will provide instruction and explanation on the practice of the prayer. As always, Geshe-la will provide time for questions and discussion. This is an excellent opportunity for newer students to learn about this important practice and for more experienced students to deepen their practice and understanding.
