They Don't Get the Final Word • Acts 12:1-19 ➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4zkqwII Powerful people often act as though they have complete control over the world. Herod can execute James, imprison Peter, and use his power to gain public approval. But when God decides to free Peter, all of Herod’s soldiers, chains, and prison doors can't stop him. The story doesn’t promise that God will always rescue us from suffering, but it does remind us that evil and corruption will not have the final word. Jesus is the true King, and one day he will return to set things right.

Shaped by Grace to Love Others • Acts 11:19-30 ➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4juI5kr God is always at work in unexpected places and among unexpected people. Barnabas recognized God’s grace in Antioch and encouraged the new believers to keep following Jesus. Their faith grew into a community that not only welcomed others but also cared for people in need. The church becomes what God intends when we recognize his work, encourage one another, and put our faith into practice through love.

God's Grace Has No Boundaries • Acts 11:1-18 • Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4hV9cCS Peter faces criticism and explains to Jewish believers why he entered a Gentile home and ate with Cornelius’s household, describing how God led him to them and poured out the Holy Spirit on them. The believers eventually recognize that God has granted repentance and life to the non-Jewish community, too. This passage reminds us that God’s grace exceeds our boundaries and calls the church to welcome those God welcomes.

God's Family Is Bigger Than We Think • Acts 10:23-48 • Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4hIoMSe Peter crosses a boundary he never thought he would cross and enters the home of Cornelius, a Gentile. As Peter tells the story of Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes upon these people just as he had come upon the Jewish believers. God makes it clear that no one is an outsider when they put their faith in Jesus. The church is not built around people who look alike, think alike, or come from the same background. Jesus is creating a new family where all kinds of people are welcomed.

Jesus Tears Down Walls • Acts 10:1-23➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4yjZUHm Jesus is building a new kind of community where people from every background can belong. Peter, a Jewish man, and Cornelius, a Roman Gentile, typically would not have eaten together, worshiped together, or even spent much time together. But God showed Peter that the old boundaries were coming down. No person is unclean or unwelcome because of where they come from. Jesus’ family is much bigger than we often imagine. His welcome reaches across race, nationality, culture, social status, and all the other lines we use to separate people. The only requirement is faith in Jesus. Will you trust Jesus enough to welcome people who are different from you?

The Ordinary Power of the Kingdom • Acts 9:32-43➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4xER7yO God can certainly work through the spectacular, but He also delights in using ordinary people, doing ordinary things, to reveal His extraordinary grace. Through Peter, Jesus brings healing to Aeneas. He also brings healing through Tabitha’s life. She spent her days making clothes, helping the poor, and loving the people around her. We’re easily drawn to the impressive, the huge conference, the famous preacher, the dramatic testimony, but Jesus’ Kingdom often advances through people who love their neighbors and faithfully do good.

Seeing Jesus, Seeing Again • Acts 9:1-31➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/3TsPu9e No heart is too hard for God to reach and no life is beyond his ability to redeem and use. Saul thought he was serving God, yet he was actually fighting against Jesus. Jesus met him on the road, opened his eyes, and gave him a completely new direction. God is still breaking through hard hearts, changing people we may have given up on, and bringing light into places that seem hopeless. The same Jesus who found Saul can find us, and the kingdom of heaven is still breaking into this world through changed lives.

The Outsider Welcomed In • Acts 8:26-40➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/4xCrvmP God once made a way through the wilderness to bring Israel out of Egypt, and now God is making a new way through the wilderness as the good news of Jesus moves out from Jerusalem to the nations. And today God is still at work on the wilderness roads of our lives, leading us to people and places we never expected so that his good news can reach those who feel far away or forgotten. We can trust him, follow where he leads, and rejoice knowing that no person is beyond his welcome and grace.

Jesus Changes What We Want • Acts 8:9-25➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/3Ut6xbt Following Jesus is not about getting God’s power to serve our own purposes, but allowing God to transform our hearts and desires. Simon had believed and been baptized, yet he was still learning to let go of his old ways of thinking about power, control, and status. God is patient with us too. None of us has arrived. We are all being changed, sometimes slowly and imperfectly, as the Spirit teaches us the ways of God’s new kingdom. So let’s keep following, keep repenting, keep learning, and trust that the God who began his work in us will patiently keep transforming us.

When Darkness Tries to Win • Acts 7:54-8:8➡️ Listen to Sunday’s sermon online here: https://bit.ly/3UOER0G God’s work cannot be stopped, even by suffering, persecution, or death. Stephen is killed for faithfully proclaiming Jesus, and the church is scattered by persecution. But instead of silencing the gospel, the scattering carries it into new places. Philip goes to Samaria and proclaims Christ, people are healed and set free, and “there was great joy in that city.” What looks like defeat in the moment becomes the very means God uses to advance His kingdom. When we cannot understand what God is doing, we can still trust that Jesus is Lord, God is faithful, and the gospel is still moving forward.
