Join us on Friday, September 11th at 1:00pm, for a ceremony to remember the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of 9/11. We will honor those who lost their lives, recognize the first responders and others who answered the call, and reflect on the courage, service, and compassion shown in the days that followed.

The ceremony will be held outside the Itasca Fire Protection District Station No. 66, 520 W. Irving Park Rd, Itasca, IL 60143.

Let us pause in solemn remembrance of 25 years ago today – September 11th.

We pray for all who lost their lives in the tragic events of that day and for the families who continue to carry the weight of that loss.

May God’s peace comfort every grieving heart, and may we never forget. 🙏

Blessing for the Fallen of 9-11

God of mercy,
in your word of Scripture, you instruct us to
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Give us today the courage to assist those around us
who may need our assistance.
Give us patience when we become impatient.

Remind us to pray for all those who perished on
United Airlines 93, American Airlines 11,
United Airlines 175, American Airlines 77,
and those in the Twin Towers and Pentagon.

Give us a heart thankful for those who gave their lives
as first responders, as did the men and women
who ran into danger to be of aid.

We ask all this in the name of the One
who first responded to our need for a savior, Jesus the Christ.

We ask that You bless the students in our congregation, giving them inspirational teachers, studious habits, solid friendships, and Your grace in every moment of this school year.

Bless the teachers and school staff in our congregation, too. Fill them with Your love and care so that, as they teach and minister to our young people, Your wisdom and light may be known, encountered, and shared.
