The Last Supper — Mark 14:12–31

What if you knew this was your last meal?

At this table, Jesus didn’t focus on Himself—He revealed something far greater:
a sacrifice that would change everything.

The disciples would fail.
One would betray Him.
Yet Jesus still gave Himself for them.

And for us.

This Sunday, we begin Series 8: The Passion of the Christ with a message from Mark 14.

Come see what the Last Supper really means
Come be reminded what it cost
Come discover why your salvation rests not on your faithfulness—but His

Join us tomorrow at Calvary Baptist Church in Island Pond!

We’ll be continuing our study through the Gospel of Mark with a message titled “A House of Prayer” from Mark 11:12–26.

In this passage, Jesus confronts empty religion and reminds us what God truly desires—a life marked by real faith, genuine prayer, and a heart that honors Him.

It’s possible to look right on the outside… and still miss what matters most on the inside. This message will challenge us to examine our hearts and draw closer to the Lord in true worship.

Palm Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church

This Sunday we come to a powerful moment in our study through the Gospel of Mark:

“Hosanna: The King Has Come”
Mark 11:1–11

As Jesus enters Jerusalem, the crowds are shouting, praising, and celebrating.

But there’s a tension in the moment…

They welcomed Him as King—
just not the kind of King He truly was.

This passage challenges us with a searching question:

Have we received Jesus as He is… or only as we want Him to be?

Join us this Sunday as we look at the triumphal entry and what it really means to welcome Christ as King.

Join us this Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church

This week we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark with a message from Mark 10:32–52 titled:

“A Servant’s Heart”

As Jesus makes His way to the cross, He teaches His disciples—and us—that true greatness is not found in position or recognition, but in humility, sacrifice, and service.

In a world that pushes us to look out for ourselves, Christ calls us to something very different: a life shaped by a servant’s heart.

We’ll also see the contrast between those seeking glory and a blind man who simply cried out for mercy—and how that difference still speaks to us today.

Good Afternoon!

I’m looking forward to gathering with you tomorrow morning for worship at Calvary Baptist Church.

This week we will be continuing our message from Mark 10:1–31, Marriage, Wealth, and the Kingdom. The last two weeks we worked through the first portion of the passage, and tomorrow we will pick up in the section titled “The Danger of Riches.” In this passage Jesus presses a searching question that runs through the entire text: What must we surrender to truly follow Him?

The encounter with the rich young ruler reminds us that the issue is not merely wealth, but what owns our hearts. Christ calls us not simply to admire Him, but to follow Him with wholehearted trust.

I will also be attaching the bulletin for tomorrow’s service.

Sunday Evening Service – 6:00 PM
We will also have our evening service tomorrow at 6:00 PM, and we are glad that Pastor Bruce Patterson will be with us. We hope you’ll come back and join us for this time of preaching and fellowship.

Midweek Service – Thursday at 6:00 PM
Don’t forget our weekly Thursday evening service at 6:00 PM as well. It’s a good opportunity in the middle of the week to gather around God’s Word and spend time in prayer together.

Resurrection Sunday – Coming Soon
We are also looking forward to celebrating Resurrection Sunday together soon. We will be hosting a breakfast before the service, followed by our Resurrection Sunday worship service. It would be a wonderful opportunity to invite family, friends, and neighbors to come and celebrate the risen Christ with us.

I’m grateful for each of you and look forward to worshiping together tomorrow.

In Christ,
Pastor Tim
