YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER.
One of the most powerful reminders from today's word was that, through Christ Jesus, we have the power to overcome sin and temptation.
Many times we think overcoming means never struggling, never falling, or never facing temptation. But the reality is that even the Apostle Paul spoke about the battle between the flesh and the spirit. He acknowledged that there were things he wanted to do but didn't, and things he didn't want to do that he found himself doing. Yet he did not give up. He continued to fight, surrender, and pursue Christ.
The victory was not found in Paul's perfection—it was found in his persistence and in the grace of God working within him.
Because of Christ's finished work on the cross, sin no longer has dominion over us. Temptation may come, but it does not have to conquer us. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have been given the strength to resist, the grace to repent, and the victory to keep moving forward.
If you're in a battle today, don't quit. Don't allow your struggle to convince you that you've been defeated. Keep fighting. Keep praying. Keep surrendering. Keep getting back up.
You are not defined by the temptation you face. You are defined by the victory Christ has already won for you.
