Bible Stories with Judy - Abraham Trusts God - Genesis 12:1-9; 15:5
Hi friends! Today Judy is sharing the story of Abraham, a man who packed up everything he knew and followed God into the unknown.
God came to Abraham and asked him to leave his home, his country, and everything familiar, and go to a new land that God would show him. God made Abraham a wonderful promise too: that he would become the father of a great family, and that through him, the whole world would be blessed. Abraham didn't know exactly where he was going, but he trusted God and went anyway. Later, when Abraham wondered how such a big promise could really come true, God took him outside at night and told him to look up at the stars. Just as many stars as filled the sky, that's how many people would one day come from Abraham's family.
This story reminds us that:
- Trusting God sometimes means taking a first step before we can see the whole path
- God's promises are big, even bigger than we can imagine
- It's okay to have questions, and it's okay to still trust while we're wondering
- Being a blessing to others is part of what God calls us to
Scripture: Genesis 12:1 to 9; 15:5
Question to talk about after: Has God ever asked you to try something new or brave?
