"if it had not been the Lord who was on our side" Psalm 124:1
Allow me to personalize our to 'MY' side - how often do we wish for someone with clout, medical expertise, or any other type of specialty, our spouses, children, kindred, to have been there by our side when we needed them the most and there was none. It is human nature to seek and identify with like-kind in the natural and we reach out to God as a last resort. However, our God sent His only begotten Son, who lived a life with the same struggles we face in life, a like-kind who blazed the journey of life but without sin - Jesus Christ! Hebrews 4:15 (AMP) "For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin."
Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble."
Our Master is the only one who is able to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations.
Oh, how I've proved Him over and over again, Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus... oh for grace to trust Him more! I'm so glad I learned to trust Him! He will be with me to the end!
Turn to Him, He is our only hope and salvation! Blessings!

A great old hymn performed by Casting Crowns(with lyrics)

Romans 8:26 (Amplified Version)
"In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words."
The preceding verses from the beginning of this chapter talk about the escape from the bo***ge of sin; the admonition to follow the Holy Spirit indwelling in you, moreover, 'habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body as you are continually led by the Spirit of God; when we live in the flesh, we WILL endure emotional, physical and spiritual sufferings, however; beginning with v26, whilst we go through the tumultuous and raging billows of pain, sorrow and agony, as long as you are led by the Spirit of God, when you don't have the strength to open your mouth and begin to pray, 'the Spirit comes to us and helps us in our weakness. As long as the Holy Spirit is indwelling within you, "He knows our need and at the RIGHT time, intercedes on our behalf with signs and groanings too deep for words." Stay close to God and He'll stay close to you!
The following verses reminds us of the victory we have in and through Jesus Christ, our Lord! This is what helps us to echo these words in our life, as we press in and press through with prayer, even when we are unable to pray;
v.37 "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. 38 For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Ever have that moment when a name or a person starts flashing through your mind. This is the work of the Holy Spirit, while interceding for that person who is in much need of prayer taking that petition to the presence of God 'with sighs and groanings too deep for words,' pray for that person immediately! The fervent prayer of the church availeth much!
Isn't it great knowing that our God knows us by name and our every need! What an awesome God we serve!
Pray one for another! Pray without ceasing! Pray without doubting! Pray!

Blessings!

A politically correct message for this independence day weekend - God, the Father liberated us from hell, the dominion of darkness and from the clutches of satan. He prepared His kingdom through the Way, Jesus Christ who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we could be free! This battle was fought 2000+ years on a hill called, Golgotha by the beloved Son of God, Jesus Christ. It didn't end with a decomposing body of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. As a matter of fact not a single bone was broken as prophesied. The bruised, bloodied, physical body of our Master, which had borne our sins, was placed in a borrowed tomb. On the third day, Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, preparing His Kingdom, so He may receive us unto Him.
Therefore, those who believe in Him will have eternal life. Yes, we have been set rescued, delivered and set free! "he whom the Son sets free is free indeed." Praise God, we're free indeed!

"13 [The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins." Colossians 1:13-14 (AMPC) Biblegateway.com

As certain as there is day, there is night. Therefore, as sure there is a heaven then there is also a hell. The choice remains yours! Accept and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and strive to live a life without returning to the vomit of sin. This life manual is found in the Bible - the eternal, infallible and everlasting Word of God!

Does not matter who you are - your tribal, cultural, and socio-economic background does not matter to God. What matters is - IF you WANT HIM and ready to do as HE says!

"Peter fairly exploded with his good news: “It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel—that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again—well, he’s doing it everywhere, among everyone." Acts 10:34-36 The Message Bible - Biblegateway.com

"He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we’ve learned: that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth." I Timothy 2:4 The Message Bible

God loves you and He wants you - Do you want/need Him? If so, He is already at your heart's door knocking, let Him in and He is yours and you will be His throughout eternity - yes, even after you die, you will be with Christ because you belong to Him and you will reign with Him in eternity! Be willing to do what He says!

Receive Him into your heart today, won't you!

A brief reflection of our life! Take note, especially vs.11-12, as all of our thoughts are that we will continue on forever;

Psalm 49
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1 Hear this, all you peoples; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 Both low and high, rich and poor together:
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.
4 I will submit and consent to a parable or proverb; to the music of a lyre I will unfold my riddle (my problem).
5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of those who would supplant me surrounds me on every side,
6 Even of those who trust in and lean on their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches?
7 None of them can by any means redeem [either himself or] his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him—
8 For the ransom of a life is too costly, and [the price one can pay] can never suffice—
9 So that he should live on forever and never see the pit (the grave) and corruption.
10 For he sees that even wise men die; the [self-confident] fool and the stupid alike perish and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is that their houses will continue forever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands their own [apart from God] and after their own names.
12 But man, with all his honor and pomp, does not remain; he is like the beasts that perish.
13 This is the fate of those who are foolishly confident, yet after them men approve their sayings. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
14 Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol (the place of the dead); death shall be their shepherd. And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their form and beauty shall be consumed, for Sheol shall be their dwelling.
15 But God will redeem me from the power of Sheol (the place of the dead); for He will receive me. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!
16 Be not afraid when [an ungodly] one is made rich, when the wealth and glory of his house are increased;
17 For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.
18 Though while he lives he counts himself happy and prosperous, and though a man gets praise when he does well [for himself],
19 He will go to the generation of his fathers, who will nevermore see the light.
20 A man who is held in honor and understands not is like the beasts that perish.

The sweat of our brow may grant us wealth, allowing our hands to purchase lands and may even name streets after us. But, soon after our last breath and the funeral is over, allowing a few months to pass on, you and I will only be a faded strand of memory.
But, there is a land that is fairer than day and by faith we can see it afar, where our Father has mansions in Glory, which Jesus Christ has gone on to prepare for us, soon after He gathers us home. You can reserve your room today and have your name recorded in heaven!

Confess your sins to God by sincerely and deliberately turning away from ALL sin, accept and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior, and you shall be saved!

A Resurrection Reflection

Philippians 3:10-11 AMPC

10 [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] 11 That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body].

Apostle Paul, one of the greatest contenders of faith but a humble servant of the Lord, self described as the 'least of the saints'; 'worst of sinners' made one thing clear in this passage - having experienced a one-on-one physical encounter with the Lord at the gate of Damascus, Paul writes - 'Oh that I may know Him' translated as 'my determined purpose in life is that I may progressively, deeply and intimately acquaint with Him.'

What is there to know more about Jesus Christ? Paul answers, "I perceive who He is - the King of Glory; I recognize Him - as Lord and Savior; I understand the wonders of His person more strongly and clearly" now that I have a slight grasp of His triune being.

But, wait just a minute! In the same way I perceive, recognize and understand Him, I also want to know more about this awesome, supernatural, unstoppable and undeniable dynamo; a power that was unleashed from Joseph's tomb in Jerusalem, over 2000+ years ago, one which continues even to this very hour, exerting over every believer. This resurrection power has not lost its energy nor has it ever been interrupted but has been constant throughout the ages, transforming, purging, restoring, healing and overflowing in the life of one that believes.

This power, however would not have been possible had it not been for those precious moments of agony, pain and suffering, our Lord endured on our behalf commencing in the garden of Gethsemane, through the courthouse of Pilate, via Dolorosa and onto that hill called Golgotha (Calvary). There He endured the shame and curse on our behalf, of one being hung on a cross between two thieves.
To be a recipient of that power, I must recognize and realize how the source of that power came to being. There was a crucible experience during which the primary source of that resurrection power was generated as a result of the Lord's suffering in His physical body. His suffering was above and beyond the breaking point any human being could encapsulate within their physical body. Foreseeing the degree of pain He would endure, Jesus asked the Father, 'if possible, please allow my entrance into this crucible pass, but nonetheless, not My will but Thy will be done.'

Paul said that 'I may so share His sufferings', so I can be molded and conformed to His likeness. Paul whilst confined in the prison cell hearing the ex*****oner sharpen the blade readied for his ex*****on, he knew the suffering he would endure would never be anything compared to that of His Master. But, nonetheless he wants to partake in the Master's suffering so he could be continually transformed in the spirit into His likeness, even if it means he may be executed like His Master unto death. Paul is confident that it is all accomplished through hope that the power of Christ's resurrection will also be transferred into my life, even if I surrender to death, that I will be resurrected through the power of Christ.

But, I thank God for Jesus Christ, who through His death, burial and resurrection, has resurrected me from spiritual and moral death from amongst the unbelievers who are dead spiritually and has granted me eternal life while I am still alive in my body (Ephesians 5:2). But soon my physical body will die but I look forward to that glorious day when my corruptible body will be raised and transformed into an incorruptible body to reign with the one who gave His life for me! "Thanks be unto God, who gives us the victory, making us conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ," because of His resurrection!

Live, hope and reign in the power of His resurrection! Because He lives, I can face tomorrow!

Blessings!
