Holy Trinity Seminary

Holy Trinity Seminary Holy Trinity Seminary offers excellence in human, intellectual, spiritual and pastoral formation for Mary’s Seminary in Houston.

In 1965, near the end of the Second Vatican Council, Holy Trinity Seminary was founded by Bishop Thomas K. Gorman, the Bishop of what was then known as the Diocese of Dallas-Fort Worth. Bishop Gorman’s leadership supported by the priests, religious, and laity of North Texas helped to give Holy Trinity Seminary a firm beginning for the sake of the development of the Catholic faith in North Texas an

d throughout many parts of the United States. Bishop Gorman established Holy Trinity Seminary in association with the University of Dallas in order that seminarians might receive human formation and a sound education within the Catholic intellectual tradition provided by the curriculum and student life of the University. Between 1965 and 1986, Holy Trinity Seminary was an eight year seminary providing both collegiate and theological formation and education for seminarians from dioceses across the United States of America. In 1986, Bishop Tschoeppe of Dallas and Bishop Fiorenza of the Diocese of Galveston-Houston agreed to cooperate in the work of seminary formation by maintaining a collegiate program of formation at Holy Trinity Seminary and a graduate program of theological formation at St. Throughout its history, Holy Trinity Seminary has been privileged to prepare men for priestly ministry in the dioceses of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas, Nebraska, Alaska, South Carolina and others.

🎊Please join us in warmly welcoming seminarian Brian Pendleton to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church!🎊

Brian is spending his summer with us as part of his priestly formation, learning about parish life and experiencing the many ministries that help build up our community.

Brian is in formation at Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas and is studying at the University of Dallas. We are grateful for the gift of his presence among us and ask that you keep him, and all those discerning a vocation to the priesthood, in your prayers.

May the Lord continue to guide and strengthen Brian as he follows His call. Welcome to St. John the Baptist, Brian! 🙏✝️

🙌Meet Our Summer Seminarian Sam Cavanna🙌

As I finish my second year of priestly formation and discernment, I am grateful to God for placing me at St. Mark the Evangelist—only a week and a half into the assignment, I’m struck by the welcoming and warm environment amongst the staff and the parishioners. My hope is that, with God’s help, I will be able to better understand his calling in my life, hopefully serving the people with a greater love for Christ and a greater zeal for the salvation of souls. As I continue to discern a call to the priesthood, I ask for your prayers, that I would recognize the works of the Lord—which are so often ordinary and only heard in the silence of prayer.

A random fun fact about me: Believe it or not, I am actually Filipino.

HTS came out in full force to support Fr. Reed Robinson (Class of 2022) for his ordination to the priesthood.
