Neighbors Helping Neighbors!!
WE'RE COLLECTING THANKSGIVING MEAL BAG DONATIONS
Last year, with the help of our community, The Table–Irving and All Things Made New distributed more than 500 Thanksgiving Meal Bags to families in Southeast Irving.
This year, we need your help to do it again!

If you are in ministry, how we understand and respond to trauma can transform how we connect with and help others. Mission Alive is excited to host the Trauma Responsive Care Workshop featuring Dr. Fred Liggin of 3e Restoration. This powerful 3-day training explores the intersection of theology, trauma, and resilience within a Christ-centered context. Attendees from our May session described it as one of the most ministry-changing conferences they had ever attended!

We love it when a plan comes together at the Southeast Irving Community Center Community Garden! Water harvesting for our gardens has commenced! Natural rain water is exactly what our tomatoes, peppers, okra and herbs have been missing.

Mission Alive is hosting a Trauma Responsive Care Workshop with Dr. Fred Liggin of 3e Restoration, and you’re invited!
This three-day workshop will explore the intersection of theology, trauma, and resilience and examine how trauma-responsive practices can strengthen the way communities of faith care for and walk alongside people who have experienced trauma.

A former Denver hotel was converted into 139 apartments for people who had been struggling to find stable housing.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless purchased the former Quality Inn & Suites on Quebec Street in 2019.

Instead of demolishing the building and starting over, the organization converted the existing hotel rooms into furnished studio apartments.

The project became known as Fusion Studios and opened in January 2020.

Each unit includes basic living amenities such as a kitchenette and refrigerator, while residents can also access support services on site.

The property includes case management and a food pantry, with additional health and support services available through the Coalition.

The conversion also moved quickly. Work took roughly five to six months, providing permanent supportive housing much faster than a typical new apartment development.

The Coalition purchased the hotel for about $8.4 million, while contemporary estimates suggested building a similar number of units from scratch could have cost several times more.

Today, Fusion Studios remains a 139-unit permanent supportive housing property.

A building once designed for people staying a few nights ended up serving people who needed somewhere to stay much longer.
