La Cité de refuge est née d'une vision dans laquelle Dieu a montré à son serviteur Dieudonné Nzengu, la ville où il vivait en pleine geurre des religions, des gens courant ça et là, à la recherche d'abri. l avait été désigné pour bâtir une cité de refuge, un lieu de sécurité et repos, à condition que ceux qui y viendront renoncent à tout moyen de défense personnelle, et se débarrassent de toute a**e afin de j***r du vrai refuge et repos en Christ. Depuis 1995, un lieu de culte fut apprêté à Kinshasa dans la commune de Kintambo avec comme nom Cité de Refuge. Après avoir parcouru tout le Congo, la Cité de refuge a traversé les frontières pour apporter le message de la foi en Christ, seule voie d'accès au refuge que Dieu donne, ce secours qui ne manque jamais dans la détresse. En ce jour la Cité de refuge vient d'implanter un lieu de refuge aux USA au Texas à Irving, Dallas.
