MacArthur Blvd Baptist Church We exist to lead people to trust and follow Christ. Sunday Gathering @ 10:30 a.m.

08/20/2026

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13, ESV). This verse doesn’t mean Christ will make every circumstance go your way. It means Christ is enough no matter what your circumstances may be.

Paul knew that his contentment wasn’t found in what he had, or in getting what he lacked, but was found in Christ who strengthened him.

Last night we kicked off our Sunday Night Bible Study through Romans, with Jared Allen helping us understand the overall context and major themes of Paul’s letter.

We hope you’ll join us in the sanctuary next Sunday from 5–6:30 p.m. as we continue walking through this incredible book together. Come ready to open your Bible, ask questions, and grow alongside one another as we seek to better understand God’s Word and faithfully apply it to our lives.

Truth matters. Not only because dishonesty harms our neighbor, but because we represent a God who is always true and completely trustworthy.

The Ninth Commandment calls God’s people to more than simply avoiding lies or giving false testimony. We are called to be people whose words carry credibility. People who reject spin, exaggeration, misrepresentation, and deceptive speech, and whose “yes” truly means yes and whose “no” means no.

In a modern age where words are often used to control the narrative, the church should be different. Whether the world agrees with us or not, may they recognize that we are careful with our words and trustworthy in our witness.

Watch the full sermon at the link in the comments and join us this Sunday as we conclude our summer series through the Ten Commandments.

What if the greatest picture of God’s grace wasn’t found in a church... but on a cross between two criminals?

One thief mocked Jesus. The other simply asked to be remembered. Jesus’ response changes everything. (Luke 23:39–43)

If this clip encourages you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace.

And if you want to see why this moment matters so deeply, not just for a dying thief but for every one of us, watch the full sermon at the link in the comments.

What do Southern Baptists actually believe and why does it matter?

In this new episode of our Discipleship Podcast, Pastor Travis sits down with Pastor Art to discuss the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, the doctrinal statement that expresses the biblical convictions of Southern Baptists and serves as a guide for the life and ministry of our church.

Whether you’re new to MacArthur Blvd, considering church membership, or simply want to better understand the beliefs that shape our teaching and ministry, this conversation offers a clear introduction to why doctrine matters and how faithful theology leads to faithful living.

Listen today through the link in our bio, then join us this Sunday at 9:00 AM as our Equipping Class continue to dive deeper into each Article of the Baptist Faith & Message.

Our Semi-Annual Potluck and Membership Meeting is more than a business meeting, it’s an opportunity to celebrate God’s faithfulness together as a church family.

We want to encourage every member to join us Sunday, August 9, at 5:00 p.m. as we share a meal, hear ministry updates, review our proposed 2026–2027 budget, and look ahead to all God is doing in and through MacArthur Blvd. We believe you’ll leave encouraged, informed, and excited about where the Lord is leading our church.

Curious about exactly what we’ll cover? Be sure to check your email for the planned agenda and detailed minutes from our previous meeting.

For dinner, we’ll cover the meat, rolls, and tea. We ask each member, according to your last name, to bring a dish ready to serve and in a disposable pan:
A–F: Vegetable
G–M: Dessert
N–Z: Salad

Childcare will be provided immediately following dinner for children (birth through Pre-K), so be sure to bring the whole family.

We look forward to gathering with you and celebrating God’s faithfulness!

The Seventh Commandment is about far more than just not committing adultery.

Each of God’s commands go beyond just prohibiting sin; they reveal to us the kind of people He is redeeming us to become and paint a vision of life marked by a deep love for both God and our neighbor. As such, the call of Exodus 20:14 is a call to complete and wholehearted faithfulness. A call for us to honor the marriage covenant in our heart as well as in actions.
