Our Awaken Missions Team is getting ready to head to Peru 🇵🇪

Through your generosity, we’ll be providing free medical and dental checkups and distributing hygiene kits to families in need.

No power, no problem. ⚡️

Turns out, a power outage can’t stop what happens at Awaken Church... somehow it made the day even sweeter.

Just because the lights went out doesn’t mean we couldn’t receive.

Thankful for a church that knows how to worship, laugh, adapt, and keep going when things don’t go according to plan.

Also… after today, it’s safe to say we’re ready for the future home God has for us. 😅

Today at , lightning struck a transformer & we lost power… but here’s why I loved it…

1. It reminded me that the church is people, not production.

No lights or screens, yet the presence of God was just as real.

Jesus doesn’t need perfect conditions to do what only He can do.

2. It reminded me that, clearly, we’re ready for the future God has for us.

As much as I like this building and all the memories we’ve made here, today’s outage was a pretty good reminder that we’re ready to move out of an aging facility and into the next season God has prepared.

3. It reminded me why gathering together matters.

Phones became flashlights.
People prayed.
People laughed.
People lingered.

If you were watching online today, this is exactly why you need to be in the room. Some moments can’t be livestreamed.

Jesus promised He would build His church.

Turns out, He can do it with or without electricity. ⚡️
