The Table- Irving

The Table- Irving In a diverse city full of different cultures, languages and backgrounds we all want a place to hear and be heard, see and be seen, know and be known.

A place where we'll be valued and accepted. Join us at our next event, we have a seat reserved for you. The Table- Irving is a place for those on the fringes, those society overlooks. People that feel like they don't always fit in or feel welcome. We host different pop-up events all over south Irving designed to have good food, good company and just hang out and get to know people who are just lik

e us- we just don't know it yet. The single mom or dad struggling to make ends meet, the homeless, the broken- physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The people who don’t look, talk, or sound like us, and the disenchanted, the hopeless, the lonely. Whoever you are, you are welcome and we have a seat at The Table, waiting for you.

The Table- Irving has been around south Irving for almost a year and a half. Through our Neighborhood Nights Out, Food Distributions and other events our focus has been on building relationships and offering resources in south Irving that help individuals and families build community and find help and hope in their lives. Next Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 5:30-6:30pm we take our next big step and we'd love to celebrate with you! Join us at our Ribbon Cutting for the SE Community Center located at 1712 Carl Rd. It will be a short ceremony sponsored by the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce that will both celebrate The Table- Irving and the opening of the South East Community Center. We believe our community centers will be game changers for individuals and families in the neighborhoods of south Irving. Come join us and hear what we're all about. There will be appetizers and tours for our guests from the community until 6:30. We hope to see you there!

Each woman has her own personal experience. Stories of pain and stories of joy. When we share in each other's experiences, we stand united and strong. Yes, we are a constant work in progress, and we are never meant to travel this journey alone. Join us for H.O.P.E. Her Own Personal Experience, this support group for single women and moms is sponsored by The Table- Irving and Wide Awake Therapy and facilitated by Lauren Douglas. It's a place for women who feel like they're walking this journey alone to find community. It's also a safe place to release some of your struggles through open communication, and to hear about how others use strategies to overcome similar experiences and difficulties. It starts Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 6:30-8pm. The pizza's on us and childcare is included. We'll be at the new Southeast Community Center located at 1712 Carl Rd. and we hope you'll join us.

"If a man doesn't fear God, a man will act like God. He will act like God in the workplace. He will act like God in his relationships. He will act like God in his community and that's where so many of the abuses of power happen is that men don't submit themselves to something greater than themselves. So every man has to determine who is his Lord and for most people in modern culture it's the sovereignty of self, but for Christians our Lord is Jesus. So we define ourselves as disciples of Jesus. The kingdom is important because a man will point his energy into the world to create something and what we are called to is to seek first is the kingdom of God." -Jon Tyson, Forming Men Podcast

Lots of work and lots of fun is a great way to describe what goes into Fresh and New Back to School Events each year! Another year is done but partnering with so many great churches, organizations and businesses to make it happen and meeting so many new people as we come together to help over 1,000 kids and hundreds of families get ready for school to start is what it's all about! The Table- Irving was lucky to be apart of of this event once again this year.

This year we had four different locations spread out at four different churches over two weekends. Thanks to the staff and all the volunteers at our host churches: Irving Bible Church, Christ Church Irving, MacArthur Blvd Baptist Church, and First Irving. A total of 260+ volunteers helped make this event happen at all these locations as we worked together to offer backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, gift cards for shoes, school physicals, eye exams, hair cuts, resources from nonprofits and even diapers this year.

We are so grateful to be a part of these beautiful partnerships with organizations that love people and serve families, Embassy City Church, Carter's House, Lions Clubs International, 2435 Kinwest Medical Clinic, the Target Distribution Warehouse, MJ Beauty Academy, Clean UP usa, MarqBlendz Barber School, Irving Cares, Metrocare Services, Irving Family Advocacy Center, Youth180, Irving Public Library, Crisis Ministries and The Main Place.

Irving helping Irving! No one organization can do it all! It truly takes a community to bring real help and hope to the city and the churches, nonprofits and businesses in Irving continue to come and work together to make that happen! Thanks to everyone!
