Green Pastures Worship Center

Green Pastures Worship Center GPWC was birthed out of a deep hunger for God, and a passion to see Him move in power for renewal in the church as well as the salvation of humankind.

Green Pastures Worship Center is established as an interdenominational church upon the vision of Pastors Douglas and Candie Baker. It is propelled by the Holy Bible and local directive. At Green Pastures we believe…

The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. (2 Tim 3:16 ; 2 Pet 1:19-21)

There is only one true God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(Deut 6:4 ; 1 Pet 1:2)

That Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and that He was resurrected from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and today, is exalted to the right hand of God. (Rom 8:34)

In Salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ; by grace through faith. Those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God. (Acts 3:19 ; Rom 5:1 ; Eph 2:8 ; 1 John 5:10-12)

In addition, that Salvation is evident by the continual consecration of the believer to God which is evident in both word and deed. (Heb 12:14 ; James 1:21-22)

In the present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit who was sent to indwell, guide, teach, bestow spiritual gifts among believers, and equip them with power for life and service. The Holy Spirit is active in the world to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. All believers are entitled to and should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. This experience is distinct from and follows salvation. With the baptism in the Holy Ghost, the believer will experience a deepened reverence to God, an intensified consecration to God, dedication to His work, a more active love of Christ and His Word, and an increased passion for the unsaved. (Acts 1:4-8 ; Acts 2:4 ; Acts 8:14-17)

That all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active in the church today and are to edify and strengthen the church. That the fruits of the Spirit are to be evident in the life of the believer. The fruit of the Spirit is produced in the believer as they allow the Spirit to so direct and influence their lives. That the power of sin is destroyed, especially the works of the flesh, as they walk in fellowship with God. (1 Cor. 12; Gal. 5; Eph. 4)

The redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing of sickness and disease. (Isa 53:4-5 ; 1 Pet 2:24)

In water baptism by immersion after coming to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. (Matt 28:19 ; Acts 2:38)

That the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion), consisting of the elements bread and the fruit of the vine is the symbol of the believer's sharing in the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as a memorial of His suffering and death; and a prophecy of His Second Coming. (Luk 22:17-20 ; 1 Cor 11:23-26)

That tithing and giving is an act of faith, a display of love and gratitude toward God, an act of worship, and a distinct honor for the believer. Through one's obedience in tithing and giving, the church, together, is able to minister to the local body, local community, and to the world. The New Testament reveals that the believer should give voluntarily and cheerfully in proportion to what God has given him/her. (Mal 3:8-10 ; Matt 6:19-21 ; 2 Cor 8)

In the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. First to resurrect the righteous dead and to rapture the saints, which is our blessed hope; followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on the earth a thousand years. (1 Cor 15:52 ; 1 Thes 4:15-17 ; 2 Thes 2:1 ; Zech 14:4 ; 1 Thes 4:14 ; 2 Thes 1:7-10 ; Jude 14, 15 ; Rev 5:10 ; 19:11-21 ; 20:4-6)

This is not mine but I love it and it is so true!

I was at Elevation Church during worship the song Trust in God…

I was in a different house than I normally worship in,

The Lord started to press on me to go up and dance….

He said Go, I said no,
“But Lord they will think I’m weird”
“They don’t worship like that here”
“I Don’t want be disruptive only discipline”

I heard clearly the Lord say
Go NOW!!
something in me broke past restraint

Not hype
Not emotion
Surrender

I stepped to the front and worshiped completely unhinged before the Lord.

No image to protect.
No control to maintain.
Just yielded.

And right there in that moment I looked down and found a small piece of metal on the floor

A pull tab

A seal-breaker

Right under my feet….

I didn’t think much of it at first…
but the Lord started pressing this into me:

You don’t open a can by wishing it open

You open it by breaking the seal

And that’s when it hit me.

So many of us say, “I trust God”…
but we’re still sealed

Still guarded
Still controlled
Still measured

We want God to pour…
but we won’t let Him open

That moment wasn’t about the object
It was about what happened in me

Something shifted from closed to open

Not because I tried harder…
but because I finally stopped holding back

Stop asking God to fill what you refuse to open

Stop declaring trust with your mouth
while your life is still sealed shut in fear, control, and image

trust isn’t a song you sing
It’s a seal you let Him break
The seal in your heart

When God opens you…
you don’t get to go back to being contained

You don’t get to encounter Him deeply
and then return to living guarded

Break Open empty yourself on the altar

Go all the way
Not halfway worship
Not controlled surrender
Not calculated obedience

All the way

Break the seal

Let God have access not just to your praise, but to your decisions, your fears, your habits, your hidden places.

Because what He wants to release through you
cannot come out while you’re still closed

I’m not going back to contained

And neither should you

Pull the tab
Break the seal
Pour out yourself unto Him

How responsible are parents

Acknowledging and taking responsibility for our actions or inaction.
In the garden, Adam told God it was that woman’s fault you gave me. We have been laying blame for our actions on something else ever since.

How responsible are parents for their children’s actions?

In a court of law, these parents were held responsible. Jennifer and James Crumbley, parents of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley, were convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 10–15 years in prison for their role in the 2021 Oxford High School shooting.

We have heard about the Epstein files until we are blue in the face. The actions were horrific and sick in nature. But I continue to ask the same question. For the underage, where were their parents. How could they allow their children to be in such an unknown environment? Like the parents in the school shooting, were they not just as guilty?

And not to harp on, but what about the social media addiction trial this week. Social media was found guilty and monetarily responsible. Where are the parents? Can we expect social media to train up our children in the way they should go? Isn’t that the very core of parental responsibility?

As for me and my house, we will put our trust in the Lord
