I want to speak some wisdom today. One thing that has always bothered me is when Christian’s will tear down someone to others or just tear them down period. I have been a victim as well as the perpetrator in this. God shared with me to remember that I have the power of life and death in my tongue and that I needed to stop speaking death to people, no matter what they were saying about me. Ephesians 4:29-32 and Ephesians 5:1-2 says this”Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
We need to remember that we a no longer live by the eye for an eye mentality. Jesus gave us a new commandment in John 13:34-35. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
If we speak bad about someone to others, or just simply say something bad about someone, how is that being any different than the world. One of the main reasons Christianity is failing today is because we look, act or speak no different. 1 John 4:20-21 is what is keeping me grounded. That verse says If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.” I use to say, “Well I forgive them but that doesn’t mean I have to tolerate them”. To be honest yes it does. I mean aren’t you glad that Jesus didn’t do that to you. That he would forgive you but wouldn’t be around you. Jesus told us to forgive 70X7 times. Jesus not only forgave our sins but he also died for us.
I’ve said all of this to say. “Love one another, hold up one another and be kind.” That’s what we are truly called to do. I don’t know about you but I am so thankful that when he found me, he loved me, that he didn’t remind me of my sin and he forgave me.
I love you all dearly and ask for forgiveness and if I have ever said anything bad to you or about you I am sorry.
