With Bishop Mark Van Koevering's retirement at the end of May, the Standing Committee has entered into a Covenant of Shared Ministry with the Right Rev. Jeffrey Lee, who will serve as Assisting Bishop beginning June 1, 2026. This covenant will remain in place until our next Bishop Diocesan is consecrated. Bishop Lee will serve half-time, focusing on the responsibilities entrusted to him by the Standing Committee to support the life, mission, and discernment of our diocese. As we partner with Bishop Lee, the search for the ninth bishop of Lexington continues, with the initial slate scheduled to be announced in mid-June, followed by a petition process.
