The third annual Young Adult Retreat, co-led by Trinity Lutheran Church in Bend, Oregon, and Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Forest, California, brought together more than 30 young adults this past July. Far more than a weekend away in Oregon, it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when young adults, congregations, and districts work together to create opportunities to grow in faith, serve others, and build community.

PSD gives a warm welcome to Todd Moritz as the new Director of Development for the Pacific Southwest District – LCMS. In his role, Todd inspires generosity through individuals, foundations and congregation. To learn more about the initiatives of the PSD and the many tax advantaged strategies you can utilize, contact Todd at [email protected].

Todd has worked in full-time ministry for nearly 30 years. He is a Commissioned Minister (Teacher) in the LCMS. Academically, he has two bachelor’s degrees (Business and Accounting), an MBA and is a former CPA.

For the last four years, Todd worked for the District leading its micro high school effort called LuTEC. Prior to that, he has significant leadership and fundraising experience by working with PLI, as the CEO of Orange Lutheran High School and the CEO of the Milwaukee Lutheran High Schools. Featured PSD Resource: Making Jesus Real ✝️

This course serves to inform and acculturate PSD ECE (Early Childhood Educators) with answers to the following questions:

What is a Lutheran school, specifically, early childhood center?
How are Lutheran schools unique?
What do Lutherans believe?
What is the heritage of the Lutheran schools?
What are the characteristics of the Lutheran teacher?

Through Videos, Discussion Guides, Reflection Activities, and Practical Application, participants explore Lutheran Theology, Faith Development, Lutheran Education, and Methods for intentionally sharing the love of Jesus with young children and their families.

We pray that this course will accomplish these goals in a way that is accessible, applicable and authentic.

PSD Praise Report 🎉 Micah Raebel (front row, 3rd from the right) was Ordained and Installed on Sunday, August 23, as Associate Pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church and School, Orange, CA.
