“Babylon has fallen, has fallen.” (Isaiah 21:9)
“It has fallen, Babylon the Great has fallen!” (Revelation 18:2)
In the Old Testament, Babylon the place fell. The city that stood opposed to God was no more. In the book of Revelation, Babylon falls again. Babylon represents the pattern of this world that stands in opposition to God, the pattern that brings so much pain and sorrow to us. One day the source of evil done against you, the source of pain you face in this world, your Babylon, will fall. We can rest and rejoice knowing that one day Babylon will fall and Christ and His Kingdom will reign forever.
