Back to School Sunday is almost here! 🎉

We’re kicking off the new school year with a Sunday full of worship, connection, food, fun, and fellowship. There is truly something for everyone!

Join us THIS Sunday, August 9, for:

📖 Sunday School at 9 a.m.
⛪️ One Worship Service at 10 a.m.
🍽️ Church-wide Potluck Lunch at 11:30 a.m. - be sure to bring a side, salad, or dessert to share!
🎪 Ministry Fair at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. - discover the many ways to connect, serve, learn, and get involved!
🪩 Back to School Bash at 6 p.m. - enjoy music from our Union Praise Band, ice cream, games, and more as we bless our students and teachers for the year ahead!

Whether you’re a longtime member, new to Union, a student, a parent, a teacher, or just looking for a place to connect - we’d love to have you with us!

Our theme is: Women of G.R.I.T.
Grace, Resilience, Identity, and Trust

Together, we’ll explore the lives of four remarkable women in the Bible and how their stories remind us that God works through the overlooked, the wounded, the courageous, and the faithful. Their journeys reveal a powerful message of hope, strength, and spiritual grit that still speaks to us today.

Four Thursdays in July - starting July 9

What a beautiful, busy and rewarding week it has been this week! Union UMC and Grace UMC have always had a close relationship as we serve the Irmo/Columbia community on either side of the interstate. Union was so helpful during Grace's early years and we love to find ways to still connect.

This week, Grace 'scientists' like Pastor Meg, Cindy, John and Ruth brought creativity and science to the Vacation Bible School. They used fun to demonstrate scientific principles to kids of all ages, each designed to enhance the theme of the day. There was even puppeteering with Pastor Meg and Ollie, the local 'sealebrity'! No wonder Suzy Broadus of Union and Pastor Meg have such big smiles.

What a fantastic week we had at Vacation Bible School!! How do we come up with words to describe how awesome our week was? Might need a nap first before climbing that mountain... 😄

We learned important lessons -
- I can be brave!
- I can give my all!
- I can pray!
- I can hope!

We played games, made crafts, sang songs, and so much more.

Most importantly, we learned “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” from Philippians 4:13.

Check out some of the fun we had and plan to join us on Sunday, June 21, to hear more about our week! - 9am for pictures and stories, and 11am for singing, dancing, pictures and stories. See you there!

Ollie having some fun in the snowflakes! Just like at Snowball Mountain Challenge, Ollie is flipping for all the fun we are going to have!

We are excited to head up the mountain next week, June 15-18, in the mornings 9-11:15am. Registration is full and we can’t take walk ins this year, but you can join our wait list by checking out our Facebook event or website for more details!
