This week St Paul’s Lutheran will be hosting the Ireton Men’s Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday March 31 at 6:00 AM.

On Thursday we will remember Christ’s last supper with our Maundy Thursday Communion Service on April 2 beginning at 7:00 PM.

We were given the opportunity tonight to serve a meal to the teens at the Youth For Christ Center in Hawarden. We decided pizza and ice cream with toppings were a sure thing for a teen meal! 13 pizzas and 3 buckets of ice cream later showed the meal was a hit with the 30 plus teens! It is a blessing to be allowed to serve in such a great setting.

On Sunday, our congregation celebrated the baptism of Jeffrey Gabriel Downs, son of Darien and Adrian and brother to Korie. Welcome Jeffrey Gabriel into our church family!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Chili Cook Off. It was a fun evening of fellowship with friends and a whole lot of chili tasting! There was such a great crowd more tables and chairs needed to be set up! The coveted “Esau’s Ladle” trophy went to the Methodist Church, and those wondering, it was chili 2. Congratulations! Winner of the individual chili was Angela Kuperus!

Join the Ireton community churches this Thursday January 15, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Ireton Community Center for the Ireton Church Chili Cook Off. The community is invited to have a bowl of chili and then cast a vote for the best church chili in the People’s Choice category. The winning church will take home the coveted “Esau’s Ladle” trophy. First Reformed is currently in possession of the traveling trophy. If you are a chili master in your own home, make a batch to bring and your chili will be tasted and judged in a separate category. There will be cinnamon rolls and cookies served with the chili. Come for a friendly community rivalry and enjoy great food and fellowship! Freewill donations and any matching funds from Thrivent will be used to purchase AEDs for each Ireton community church.
