Season of Remembrance

For all the Saints and souls who have touched us profoundly, we light candles in their memory to remind us of the light and life shared with the world.

On November 1st and 2nd, we join together to celebrate lives of those who have made a difference in our families and in our world.

May we be encouraged to live our lives blessed by God and sharing God's goodness with each other.

These days we remember the lives gone before us. The living among us also enfold us, hold us dear and send us forth in blessing.

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur are committed to the Laudato Si' platform and to Pope Francis' vision of integral ecology to life.

The film, "The Letter, A Message for our Earth" will be airing on YouTube at 12:30 PM EST.

We are all invited to participate in "Care of Our Common Home".

Your inbox is full! Giving Tuesday is a time many good causes, agencies and non-profits compete for your attention to support a pressing need, provide food for the hungry and support care for the sick.

The Sustainable Development Goals promoted through the United Nations, is an invitation to discover the areas of need in our developing world communities.

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur participate in one way or another in all 17 areas promoted through the Sustainable Development Goals with an overall commitment of making known the goodness of God to women, children and families living in poverty in some of the poorest countries in the world.

Learn about one of the many important programs included in the Familias Especiales Center in Matagalpa, Peru.

Yogurt con Amor

Mother Leaders are Angels!!!!! At least that is what families at Familias Especiales believe. Luz, who now is a Mother Leader started making yogurt as a child during the early days of the Center in Matagalpa. To say that this was a life saver for her is an understatement. Now, as a Mother Leader, Luz trains and organizes the yogurt program providing this nutritional food product for patrons of the center, especially children but is available for public purchase.
During the pandemic, with programs shut down or open only minimally, Luz, with the help of Sr. Rebecca Trujillo, has organized a food security system to get food collected and distributed to the family members of the center.
"Because of Yogurt, I am the only person in my family that can read, so I have doubled my effort to help others through making the best Yogurt possible. I am in charge of keeping the recipes true"
