A special jubilee in honor of the 800th Anniversary of the passing of Saint Francis was proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV for the year 2026, through January 10, 2027. In the Diocese of Fort Worth, 11 Catholic churches, by virtue of being named for Saint Francis or served by Franciscan priests, are designated as pilgrimage sites by Most Rev. Michael Olson, Bishop of Fort Worth.

Please pray for these men and their families. Pray especially for Ray Schultz (Christ the King Catholic Church, Iowa Park) as he continues his discernment to the Diaconate.

Permanent Deacons play a critical role in the life of the Church in promoting and sustaining the apostolic activity of the Church in the ministry of charity and justice.

Together, let's lift up in prayer the men who are in diaconate formation:
Father, hear the prayers of your people and bring to maturity the seeds you have sown in the field of your Church. Bless the Church by raising up dedicated and generous leaders from our families and friends who will serve your Church as permanent deacons.

We pray that many men will listen to your call with vigor, will discern with gracious hearts, and will answer with courageous fervor. May the call to serve you through the love of neighbor be what ignites their desire.

May St. Stephen, proto-martyr, intercede for these men. May he always be an inspiration in his words, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” And may we be pillars of encouragement as they answer the call of Christ to serve. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, humbly hear our prayer, which we make through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

In most dioceses of the United States, the Church will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi this year on Sunday, June 7, following the traditional rhythm of the calendar shortly after Trinity Sunday. The feast, instituted in 1264 by Pope Urban IV, highlights the Church’s faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. “Corpus Christi” is Latin for “Body of Christ,” drawing our attention to Christ truly present under the appearances of bread and wine.
Throughout history, deep devotion to Christ in the Blessed Sacrament has marked the lives of the saints; by following their example, we too can grow in love for Jesus present in the Eucharist and strengthen our friendship with him through his Body and Blood.
