Alfonso Pizano, newly ordained for the Diocese of Davenport, has been assigned as Parochial Vicar here at St. Patrick, Iowa City as well as Sacramental Minister to St. Joseph, Columbus Junction and St. Joseph, West Liberty, with residence here at St. Patrick’s, effective July 1. We are thrilled to welcome him to our parish!

Seeking Director of Formation & Evangelization

We offer prayers of Thanksgiving for Deacon Angel’s past leadership as Director of Sacramental Preparation as he will step down from this role effective July 1. Deacon Angel will continue to serve on a part-time basis as Director of Saint Carlo Acutis Faith Formation and as Lead Catechist for OCIA in addition to his ministry as Deacon here at St. Patrick’s.

To that end, our parish--a vibrant and multi-ethnic 1500 family parish--is seeking to hire a Director of Formation and Evangelization. This position is responsible for preparing youth for the sacraments of First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation as well as overseeing the O.C.I.A program. In addition, this position will work closely with the parish staff and leadership in fostering a culture of evangelization in the parish.

The ideal candidate possesses a heart for evangelization, a deep love for Christ and the Catholic faith, great organizational skills, and works well within a ministry team setting. Bachelor’s degree in Theology or equivalent in certification or ministry experience is preferred.
