Howard Thurman once wrote:

"The bitter truth is that the Church has permitted the various hate-inspired groups in our common life to establish squatter's rights in the minds of believers because there has been no adequate teaching of the meaning of the faith in terms of human dignity and human worth."

As followers of Christ, we are called to see the image of God in every person. Faith is not only what we believe, but how we treat our neighbors, especially those who are marginalized, excluded, or harmed.

May we continue the work of building communities rooted in dignity, compassion, justice, and love.

It is with sadness that we announce that Melanie Gellhaus, wife of Tom Gellhaus, has died while vacationing with Tom.

Please pray for Tom and his family in this time of grief. May God give them comfort and hope in Jesus’ promises of eternal life.

Arrangements are pending.

What an amazing crew doing God’s work!

Thank you, Ruth Beyerhelm and John Allen for helping to cook spaghetti on Sunday. On Monday, one of the guests served said, "Your spaghetti is always good."

Patti and Jerry Mitchell, Lois Holz, and Tedi Wilson served 122 meals. Frank Scamman manned the drink table and Kent Smith and John Grundstad did the physically demanding dishwashing.

Great desserts were provided by Jen Clougherty, Marylin Hiscock, Cathy Wilson, and Tedi Wilson.

We are grateful.
