NEVER FORGET — 9/11/2001
Twenty-five years ago today, hatred brought unimaginable death and destruction to our nation. We watched buildings fall, innocent lives taken, and heroes run toward danger while others ran away.
We said we would NEVER FORGET.
But remembering 9/11 should mean more than remembering what happened. We should never forget where hatred leads.
Twenty-five years later, we live in a culture where hateful words, dehumanizing people we disagree with, and even violence are too easily tolerated—sometimes simply because the target is on the “other side.”
As Christians, we are called to something better.
“Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable… dwell on these things.” — Philippians 4:8
Stand for truth. Confront evil. Don't quietly sit on the sidelines when hatred is directed toward another human being. But do it biblically and in love.
Love God. Hate sin. Love people.
Micah 6:8 reminds us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
Hosea 10:12 tells us to sow righteousness and break up the hard ground.
And Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
We cannot condemn the harvest of hatred while continuing to plant its seeds.
So today, as we remember those who died, those who sacrificed, and those who ran toward the danger on September 11, 2001, may we also remember our calling:
🇺🇸 Never forget where hatred leads.
✝️ Never forget what love can do.
🙏 And never forget the One who first loved us.
