Hello church. Let's get back into the habit of talking to one another on our page. I'll start with a couple prayer concerns we have this weekend. Our Mel's friend Mike is facing a recurrence of cancer. I hope you all know by now that we have got to hold the Frelier family as tight as we can as they work through the loss of Don's younger sister. And please continue to pray for tom Thompson and family since the loss of his dad recently. I cannot begin to tell you with words how knowing that you are being lifted in prayer by people who love you helps to make it through the darkness of loss.

Tomorrow's agenda should include finding out how the Holy Spirit is like a wild goose more than a dove. I am looking forward to seeing us all together.

Blessings to you all for a happy, healthy and bountiful new year filled with friends, family and faith. I look forward to seeing us all together this Sunday the 6th of January. I look forward to new days with new opportunities to serve God together.

Hello friends and family, I thought I would send out an update from the little house on Honeoye Lake about that handsome man I go 'round with. Tomorrow we are going into the oncologist's office to determine a better working system for the basket full of med's we have here. Some work; some don't. Some have side effects too caustic; some don't.. We will be initiating hospice pretty soon as well. I must tell you that I must turn off the phone by 7:00 p.m. as Rog gets so tired by then and his new bed is in the living room. Our variety of kids are here very frequently so I am able to leave the premises for a bit. We are continuing to banish sadness and keep demon fears at bay with silliness and puppies and kids who are really 'not-quite-right'! You are all continuing to make this journey we are on couched in love and grace and the power of prayer.

Hello out there!!! It is now the beautiful holiday season of joy and hope, peace and love. If you are spending more than an hour shopping each week, don't forget to save an hour on Sunday the season's reason. He was, after all, the real gift of love.

Hi family and friends of Ionia United Methodist! Yesterday I talked to our District Superintendent Ted and sought to begin a family leave to be with Roger. I will, however, be providing the worship and celebration of our beautiful Confirmation student on the 2nd week of December for sure! If Rog is able to attend with me, we will be in church to see you during this blessed Christmas season. Please, feel free to call and maybe come for a brief visit. We love you dearly and your prayer and loving wishes provide amazing grace. Here on Honeoye Lake, "all is well; all is well with our souls!"

..sending out a whoppin' prayer request for our Betty Chappell who is getting a brand new, state-of-the-art knee today at FFThompson at 1:00. Let's send our friend some warm blanket love in a few minutes of prayer for Dr. Peck's talented hands and Betty's strength!

Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry is under full swing at the Ionia UMC collection site. Come on over with a shoe box filled for a child somewhere living on a garbage dump, in a box car, in a cloth yurt, in any place where there is no such thing as a toy - nothing more that a few stones and a stick. Give a child a little love from us and from a new friend named Jesus, and we can change a life. Come on, can you possibly say 'no'?

Wow! What a day yesterday was with the music and words from our District Superintendent, Ted. For those of us (;-) ) who forgot to roll their clocks back, it was a long day from 5a.m. till mid-afternoon though.
I am asking today that we keep some folks in prayer this week beginning with Terri Graham's sister in Hoboken who has to contact FEMA for help with her home and the flooding. We don't need to know the name of a local teen girl struggling with Anorexia, God knows her name; but let us pray for her safety and wellness. Jen Layton asked for prayers for any young adults struggling with making god versus bad choices in their lives. Mel has asked for prayers for a gal named Tonya experiencing some problems with her pregnancy and also for a friend named Jeremiah. Judy Baldwin's brother is continuing in his struggle with cancer as well. You know just reading this list slowly and thinking on the names is a kind of prayer.
I hope we all think a lot about the folks down state!

Thinking of and praying for Terri Graham's sister Heidi and Peter with kids Riley, Grace Eli and Quinn who cannot get off their floor in their brownstone in Jersey; of Roger's niece Ashley who lost her beautiful summer home. If you have relatives or friends in New York or any flood torn area, please feel free to post their names and we will pray for them.

Friends and family, may we each spend a few minutes today in prayer for the millions of people whose lives have been upended and whose homes have been destroyed by the hurricane. "May God provide grace and helping hands to all who need care, food, safety and encouragement during these days."
