The Bus Song
by Rocky Randall

Pastor said one Sunday (and then again that Wednesday),
that we should search our hearts and begin to pray;
'Bout whether or not we should work a bus route,
and that wasn't for me, I had no doubt!

Then my wife looked at me, and gave me the elbow,
and the very next Saturday, I decided to go.

Chorus:
And that's why I'm working on the bus,
Wiping runny noses, and listening to kids fuss.
It's true sometimes they make me want to cuss,
But I'm glad I'm still working on the bus.

That first Sunday was a real humdinger,
One kid tried to bite off my two-year-old's finger.
I threatened to throw him out the window,
But I didn't because... well, you know.

I really could not tolerate their behavior,
But the Lord reminded me they are just souls in need of a Savior.

Chorus:
And that's why I'm still working on the bus,
Wiping runny noses, and listening to kids fuss.
It's true sometimes they make me want to cuss,
But I'm glad I'm still working on the bus.

Now the Lord sure has made a change in my heart,
And I love those kids more than I did at the start.
Now they laugh at me, and I laugh at them too;
I give them lots of candy, though they rarely say "Thank you."

But what really makes it worth all I have braved,
Is when a kid comes to me and says, "Brother Rocky, I just got saved!"

Chorus:
And that's why I'm still working on the bus,
Wiping runny noses, and listening to kids fuss.
It's true sometimes they make me want to cuss.
But I'm glad I'm still working on the bus.

Yes, I'm still glad I'm working on the bus!

It is so easy for a person's name to be destroyed due to a false witness. But if you have a testimony of being honest, hard-working, and loving; then those who know you will either not believe the false report, or they will be willing to overlook what others see as your fault.

Our Story

“We strive to engage ourselves in the proper worship of God by putting Him and His Word above ourselves, our desires, and our opinions; in fellowship with one another by meeting together often to encourage and edify each other in God's Word and in His love; and in the discipleship of our church by leading others to Christ and bringing them along with us to grow together in the knowledge of God's Word and His will for our lives."
